a então posterior formação do arco elétrico.
A figura 2

Abstract: This work investigates the electric field established between the contacts of a
Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6) circuit breaker and the electric arc generated by the potential
difference and the relative movement between them. The analysis is generated from
computer simulations in the Finite Element Method Magnetics (FEMM) software
comparing the spatial distribution of the electric field for the arc contacts in different
positions in the presence of quenching medium SF6. Typical values of circuit-breaker
construction, as well as initial conditions of the contacts were taken from the literature. The
results offer conclusions about the electric arc during the rupture of the dielectric medium
by solving the Electromagnetics constitutive equations.
