ÂNIMA EDUCAÇÃO – NOTÍCIA VEICULADA PELO GRUPO LAUREATE

A ÂNIMA HOLDING S.A. (“Ânima Educação”), em atendimento ao disposto na ICVM n° 358, de

3/1/2002, conforme alterada, comunica a seus acionistas e ao mercado em geral, que, através de
notícia veiculada nessa data pelo Grupo Laureate, tomou conhecimento de que sua proposta
apresentada para aquisição dos ativos brasileiros do referido grupo foi escolhida pela Laureate como
proposta superior na fase de “go-shop” do processo estruturado. Adicionalmente, a notícia esclarece
que a Ser Educacional moveu medida cautelar para tentar impedir a continuidade do processo
estruturado, entre outros pedidos, mas obteve liminar apenas para que, provisoriamente, o contrato
entre eles firmado não seja rescindido, mantendo-se por ora sua eficácia até apreciação definitiva da
liminar, que ocorrerá após a manifestação da Laureate.

Nesse sentido, a Ânima Educação esclarece que mantém sua proposta tal como apresentada e
divulgado, aguardando o desfecho da situação noticiada.

ÂNIMA EDUCAÇÃO – LAUREATE GROUP´S PRESS RELEASE

ÂNIMA HOLDING S.A. (“Ânima Educação”), pursuant to Instruction 358 issued by the Brazilian
Securities and Exchange Commission (“CVM”) on January 3, 2002, as amended, communicates to its
shareholders and to the market in general, that, through a press release published on this date by
the Laureate Group, the company became aware that its proposal presented for the acquisition of
the Brazilian assets of that group was chosen by Laureate as the superior proposal in the “go-shop”
phase of the structured process. In addition, the release clarifies that Ser Educacional has taken a
legal measure to try to prevent the continuation of the process, among other requests, but obtained
only an injunction so that, temporarily, the contract between them is not terminated, maintaining,
for the moment, its effectiveness until definitive decision of the injunction, which will occur after the
manifestation of Laureate.

Ânima Educação clarifies that it keeps its proposal as presented and disclosed, awaiting the outcome
of the reported situation.
