RESULTADO / RESULT
o resultado do exame.

Note:
- The method used is based on the protocol provided by the Center for Disease Control (Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention - CDC) or by the Instituto de Virologia Charité - Berlin University.
Both were validated with clinical samples and / or synthetic controls, showing 100% agreement.
- This test assesses specific markers related to the Coronavirus strain, SARS-CoV-2). A result is
considered positive for COVID-19 (Sars-CoV-2 strain) when it is verified amplification of all
markers.
- A single undetected result for Sars-CoV-2 does not exclude the diagnosis of COVID-19. Several
factors such as inadequate sample collection, of sample, time elapsed between collection and the
onset of symptoms and fluctuation of viral load during the course of the disease may influence the
exam result. Therefore, in case of serious or progressive illness, or in the presence of clinical-
epidemiological findings strongly suggestive of COVID-19 and negative PCR results, the multiple
samples, from different locations and times during the course of the disease, can be necessary for
the diagnosis of the infection.
- This test may rarely have a false positive result. As recommended by the Ministry of Health,
individuals with fever and/or respiratory symptoms (for example, cough and difficulty breathing),
with a history of travel to an area with transmission location or close contact with a suspected or
confirmed case, within 14 days prior to commencement symptoms.
