desmatamento e queimadas na
Amazônia entre 2012 e 2019

Resumo
Este projeto de pesquisa foi concebido com o propósito de analisar a cobertura jornalística
do jornal O Estado de S. Paulo sobre as queimadas e o desmatamento na Amazônia entre
os anos de 2012 e 2019. Esse recorte temporal justifica-se, pois abrange o período com
menor índice de desmatamento (2012) até a retomada desse processo de destruição em
ritmo intenso em 2019. Foi um período em que o país teve três ocupantes na presidência
da República (Dilma Rousseff, Michel Temer e Jair Bolsonaro) com visões distintas sobre
aquela região. As matérias publicadas, disponíveis no acervo online do jornal, serão objeto
de análise textual por um software específico, buscando identificar diferenças de
abordagem conforme o período e o governo.
Justificativa

● A cobertura de imprensa desempenha um papel na formação, influenciando a compreensão, a


opinião pública e a tomada de decisões políticas na sociedade (Hansen, 2011). O papel em relatar
especificamente as mudanças climáticas é crucial, de acordo com Robbins e Wheatley (2021).

● As decisões políticas que antes eram tomadas baseadas em grande parte com um olhar atento para
o desenvolvimento econômico e o "progresso", têm sido cada vez mais influenciadas pela forma
como as questões ambientais são apresentadas e percebidas pela população através da imprensa
(Hansen, 2011).
Metodologia: análise textual
● Análise quantitativa (programação em R) e análise qualitativa (Análise do Discurso)
● Softaware IRAMUTEQ processará as seguintes análises:

a) Lexicografia Básica- estatísticas textuais clássicas, com a frequência de palavras;

b) Análise de Especificidades e Análise Fatorial Confirmatória (AFC) que verifica as diferenças entre conteúdos por
grupos em função de características específicas;

c) Classificação Hierárquica Descendente (CHD) que identifica a distribuição das palavras encontradas nos textos, de
acordo com suas temáticas em comum;

d) Análise de Similitude, que permite identificar quantas vezes a palavra aparece no texto e sua relação com a estrutura
da frase. Permite verificar os temas importantes pelas ligações entre as palavras e distingue as partes comuns e não
comuns entre os textos.

e) Nuvem de Palavras: apresenta as palavras mais utilizadas em tamanho maior em contraposição às palavras menos
utilizadas que aparecem em tamanho menor. É uma análise útil, pois identifica rapidamente as palavras-chaves dos textos
analisados
