Bem vindo(a) a 4º temporada da
sua jornada na English fish!
Estamos caminhando para o estudo dos conteúdos finais da nossa jornada.

Nesta etapa iremos fazer o fechamento de vários tópicos extremamente
importantes na busca pela fluência. Alguns assuntos são um pouco mais
complicados de se entender pelo fato de existir algumas “listas” para
decorar. Mas iremos explicar de forma clara como você deve fazer isso, OK?
Muito do que iremos ver aqui, está relacionado com o conhecimento

dos tempos verbais que foram explorados principalmente na
2º temporada. Por isso é importante mais uma vez fazer uma breve
revisão em seu “famoso” caderno de anotações destes tempos verbais
abaixo. É imprescindível dominar tudo isso:
SIMPLE PRESENT – I work every day.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS – I’m working now.
SIMPLE PAST – I worked yesterday.
FUTURE – Maybe I will work tomorrow / I’m going to work tomorrow.
PRESENT PERFECT – I have worked a lot lately.
Dos conteúdos que iremos abordar, vale destacar os conteúdos dos

módulos, visto que eles têm uma quantidade maior de informações
para serem absorvidas, fechado?

Reporter 1: Well! As you all know by now, there was a

black out in Center Ville last night. The lights went out
all over town.
Jackie: Side By Side TV news reporter Scott Mason is standing by
downtown to find out what people were doing last night, when the
lights went out. Scott, are you there?
Scott Mason: Jackie! It seems like everybody in town is talking about
the black out last night. Everyone has a story to tell. What were you
doing last night when the lights when out?
Man: I was washing the dishes. And my wife was giving the baby a
bath.
Woman 1: I was washing my clothes in the laundromat, and suddenly
everything got dark.
Woman 2: My husband and I were watching tv,
and our children were doing their homework.

Narrator: Exactly one year had passed since the night Mike Delfino
and Susan Mayer were supposed to become engaged.
So when Mike took Susie to her favorite restaurant, she just knew he
was going to pop the question.
Mike Delfino: What are you going to have?
Narrator: And when he did…
Susan Mayer: The chicken!
Narrator: She’d be ready with the answer! But as the evening wore
on, the moment Susan had been waiting for… failed to materialize!

Rachel - If I won a million dollars I personally would ...

I would probably quit work and apply to a better university.
You need money to get into college in the states so that would really
help me out. I think I'd definitely buy a new house, maybe not a huge
mansion but I wouldn't be renting anymore that's for sure.
Paul - If I won a million dollars what would I do? I don't have the need
to have any special large possessions such as a house or expensive
car. I think that I would put the million dollars somewhere safe where
there is no risk of anything, like the stock market, and I would live off
the interest for the rest of my life. Even in a very safe
circumstance, the return would probably be three or four percent
being thirty or forty thousand dollars a year
and I think that I could comfortably live off of
that which would allow me to travel and see
the places in the world that I haven't been to
yet.

1 DIALOGUE PRACTICE (The Titanic)
The Titanic was built in 1912. It was designed in a

new way and it was thought to be unsinkable.
Because of this, it wasn’t given enough lifeboats for the passengers
and crew. The hull was damaged by a collision with a huge iceberg,
and it sank very fast.
A total of 1,513 people were drowned that day. Because of this

disaster, a lot of magazines were printed in many languages, new
international safety laws were passed and Ice Patrol was stablished.
In 1985 the wreck was located on the seabed and the ship was
explored. Several successful movies have been made about Titanic
since then, and the most recent was
released in 1997.

2 DIALOGUE PRACTICE (The Great Wall Of China)
One of the most recognizable symbols of China,

the Great Wall of China has a long and complicated
history. It is not just one wall, but many different walls and
fortifications that were built over the course of thousands of years.
The walls built at different times were often built with different
materials, everything from packed dirt or wood to stone and brick.
These walls were meant to protect China from invasion. The earliest
walls were built more than two thousand years ago when individual
states built walls of packed earth and gravel between boards to
protect their territories from attackers with swords and spears.
At its height the Great Wall stretched more

than 13,000 miles or about 22,000 kilometers
in total length, making it the longest structure
ever built by humans.

1 DIALOGUE PRACTICE (Lockdown)
When the lockdown started, we all imagined it

was going to be a matter of one or two weeks.
What happens now is that its second anniversary is around the
corner, and many things have changed. Since then, I’ve been doing
lots of different activities at home.
First, I’ve played lots of videogames, although it had seemed fun in

the beginning, I got bored of it soon. Second, I started gardening, and
I still do, watering my plants, and taking care of my lovely flowers. I
have been gardening for almost one year now.
Before this situation started, I had been working on a part-time job at

a restaurant. It was a very nice experience, because I used to work
with three friends from high school there. Hopefully next year we’ll be
living a normal life. It will be nice to go
out and have a meal and be able to do
some shopping again.

Quando o confinamento começou, todos nós
imaginávamos que seria uma questão de uma
ou duas semanas. O que acontece agora é que
seu segundo aniversário está chegando e muitas
coisas mudaram. Desde então, tenho feito muitas atividades diferentes em casa.
Primeiro, joguei muitos videogames, embora tenha parecido divertido no início, logo fiquei

Foi uma experiência muito legal, pois eu costumava trabalhar
com três amigos do ensino médio lá. Esperançosamente, no
próximo ano estaremos vivendo uma vida normal. Será legal
sair para ter uma refeição e poder fazer algumas compras
novamente.
