CURITIBA
Curitiba é a capital do estado do Paraná, na região Sul do Brasil. A cidade conta hoje
com mais de 1,94 milhão de habitantes e consiste em uma das capitais mais ricas do país.
Curitiba é uma cidade brasileira situada no estado do Paraná, na região Sul do
país. Abriga a sede do governo estadual, desempenhando, dessa forma, a função de Capital.
Trata-se da cidade paranaense mais populosa, com pouco mais de 1,94 milhão de
habitantes. Representa também a quinta maior economia municipal do Brasil, o que a torna o
principal centro econômico do Paraná e um dos mais importantes do sul do país.
RESUMO SOBRE CURITIBA

 Curitiba é um município brasileiro pertencente ao estado do Paraná. Desempenha o

papel de capital estadual desde 1854. Sua fundação ocorreu, entretanto, em 29 de
março de 1693.
 A cidade possui clima Subtropical e um relevo ondulado. Situa-se em uma região
planáltica a mais de 900 metros acima do nível do mar. Curitiba está inserida no
bioma Mata Atlântica.
 É a oitava capital mais populosa do Brasil e a maior cidade do Paraná, com 1.948.626
habitantes. Curitiba é também densamente povoada, contando, hoje, com 4.027,04
hab./km².
 Divide-se em bairros e regionais, sendo a mais extensa destas a Cidade Industrial de
Curitiba (CIC). Algumas das mais importantes empresas instaladas em Curitiba ficam
nessa regional.
 A cidade possui o quinto maior PIB municipal do Brasil, cujo valor é de R$ 87,15
bilhões. O setor terciário é o mais representativo na economia curitibana.
 Destaca-se pelo seu sistema de transporte urbano.
 Possui inúmeros atrativos turísticos, como o Jardim Botânico, a Ópera de Arame,
museus, memoriais, parques e bosques.

CULTURA DE CURITIBA
Curitiba dispõe de uma rica vida cultural, que se expressa por meio dos seus cinemas,
teatros, bibliotecas, museus, locais históricos, pontos turísticos e centros culturais da cidade.
O calendário de celebrações e festividades é composto por festivais de música, de teatro, dos
quais se destaca o Festival de Teatro de Curitiba, considerado o maior da América Latina, de
cinema e outros, como o Festival de Etnias do Paraná e as bienais internacional e de
quadrinhos.

Muitas das manifestações culturais tradicionais da capital paranaense e do sul do país podem
ser vistas nas feiras de artesanato e de artes plásticas que ocorrem pela cidade.

CULTURE OF CURITIBA
Curitiba has a rich cultural life, which is expressed through its cinemas, theaters, libraries,
museums, historical sites, sights and cultural centers of the city. The calendar of celebrations
and festivities is made up of music and theater festivals, of which the Curitiba Theater
Festival stands out, considered the largest in Latin America, cinema and others, such as the
Festival of Ethnicities of Paraná and the international biennials. And comics.
Many of the traditional cultural manifestations of the capital of Paraná and the south of the
country can be seen at the handicraft and plastic arts fairs that take place throughout the city.
