Background

A linhagem dos Therin era conhecida por seus membros com aptidões mágicas, Elissa
Theirin foi a primeira, ao fazer um ritual que lhe garantiu poderes mágicos e que foi
repassado aos seus descendentes. Não se sabe exatamente a natureza desta deste ritual, já
que qualquer evidência escrita foi perdida. Pelo menos é o que diz Brandon Theirin,
capitão dos Knight in Silver, atual representante da família, composta por sua esposa
Ellarian Silverbow e filhos Rodrik, Edric e Sariel. No entanto, já é a terceira geração da
família onde nenhum membro apresentava habilidades mágicas. Pelo menos era assim até
que Brandon percebeu os primeiros sinais de magia em sua filha, Sariel.
Aos 15 anos, Sariel acompanhou seu pai em uma viagem até a Endless Caverns em High
Forest. Eles acamparam lá por dias, até que numa noite um ser humanoide coberto por
uma capa se aproximou deles. Seguindo ordem de seu pai, Sariel se aproximou da figura
e deixou a mesma pegar sua mão. Ao tocá-la, ela sentiu um surto de mágica percorrendo
seu corpo ao mesmo tempo que seu sangue borbulhava. Sem nenhuma palavra, a estranha
figura largou a mão e se afastou. Tempo depois, Sariel notou que escamas vermelhas de
dragão cobriram parte de sua mão esquerda. Após o ocorrido, seu pai lhe explicou que
ele era uma feiticeira e assim lhe contou história do legado da família. Terminada a
conversa, os dois voltaram a Silverymoon e ela começou a estudar magia no Lady’s
College, mas não por muito tempo, pois o chamado da aventura foi maior. Junto com seu
irmão Edric, ela juntou-se aos Harpistas para se aventurar pelo mundo e aprender mais
sobre o seu poder. Antes de ir ela prometeu a família retornar um dia quando tivesse
conhecimento e prestígio suficiente para conseguir um lugar na Spellguard de
Silverymoon como alguns dos seus antepassados ela. Sariel e Edric viajaram juntos por
um tempo, mas depois se separam quando os Harpistas os enviaram para diferentes
lugares.

Short version
Descendente de uma linhagem de adeptos a magia, ela é a foi a única que apresentou
sinais de magia em três gerações. Por causa disso ela decidiu se aventurar e aprender
mais sobre o seu poder, além de ganhar prestígio para conseguir um lugar na Spellguard
de Silverymoon. Com esse objetivo em mente ela tornou-se uma Harpista.

The Theirin lineage was known for its magical prowess, Elissa Theirin was the first one.
She made a ritual, which gave her magical powers that were passed down to her descen
dants. The exact nature of the ritual is unknown since any registry was lost long ago. At
least it is what Brandon Theirin, current head of the family composed by his wife,
Ellarian Silverbow and their children, Rodrik, Edric and Sariel, says. However, they wer
e in the third generation without any magical members. This was what Brandon thought
before he noticed the first signs of magic in his daughter.
At fifteen, Sariel and her father traveled to the Endless Caves, High Forest, where they
camped for data. One night, a stranger with humanoid form covered by a big cape
walked to their camp and following her father's orders, Sariel went to the stranger and
let it take her left hand. In a flash, she felt a surge of magic running in her body and her
blood boiling. Without any word, the stranger let it go and walked off. Later Sariel
noticed that her left hand had was partialy covered by red dragon scales. After that, her
father told her that she was a sorceress and told her about her family history. They
returned to Silverymoon and she started to study sorcery at the Lady's college. She
didn't stay there much long, the call for adventure sang loud than any other thing. With
her brother Edric, she joined the Harpists to travel the world and learn more about her
power. She promised her family to return when she had enough knowledge and prestige
to join the Spellguard like some of her ancestors. Together, Sariel and Edric traveled for
time until they got different assignments and she traveled to Braanos.
