*Usa-se SOME (algum, alguma, alguns, algumas) em frases afirmativas.

* Usa-se ANY (algum, alguma, alguns, algumas, nenhum, nenhuma) em frases

negativas e interrogativas.

* Usa-se NO (nenhum, nenhuma) em frases afirmativas com sentido negativo.

Exemplos: There are some books here. (Há alguns livros aqui.)

There aren’t any books here. (Não há nenhum livro aqui.)

Are there books here? (Há livros aqui?)

There are no books here. (Não há nenhum livro aqui.)

Observações:

1) SOME é usado em frases interrogativas apenas em caso de oferecimento ou

quando se espera uma resposta afirmativa.
Ex: Would you like some coffee? (Você gostaria de um pouco de café?)
2) ANY é usado em frases afirmativas quando:
a) Aparecer após a palavra IF.
Ex: If you have any questions, ask me. ( Se você tiver alguma dúvida,
pergunte-me.)
b) Significar QUALQUER.
Ex: Take any book you need. (Pegue qualquer livro que você precisar.)
c) Houver palavra de sentido negativo na frase, como ​seldom, never, rarely,
without, etc.
Ex: He left without any money. (Ele saiu sem nenhum dinheiro.)
