Mars or Bust

This text is about going to Mars.

Mars has been an intriguing, mysterious red dot in the sky observed for
thousands of years. It was named after the God of war. (Marte tem sido
um intrigante e misterioso ponto vermelho no céu observado por milhares de anos.

Like Earth and Venus, it formed about 4.6 billion years ago. It's about one
tenth of the earth's mass. The surface is made of principally iron oxide and
the thin atmosphere is comprised of principally carbon dioxide. (Como a
Terra e Vênus, ela se formou há cerca de 4,6 bilhões de anos. É cerca de um décimo

Research suggests that Mars had an atmosphere, flowing liquid water and

In 1971 NASA sent the first probe to mars, Mariner 1. Since then we have
sent many others to research from orbit and placed moving rovers to explore

Many governmental and private sectors want to reach Mars, it's the new destination for this century. In the
2030s it's expected to have the first human colonies there. It currently takes about 6 months to reach Mars.
Some of the entities that are planning to go are NASA with the Orion Project (built jointly with ESA), Mars
One, and Space X. (Muitos setores governamentais e privados querem chegar a Marte, é o novo destino para este século. Na

They will have great challenges ahead for themselves. They will need to grow
their own food, make oxygen, water, shelter and energy. These pioneers will pave
