I believe I deserve this scholarship opportunity because I am a professor at a university (in north of Brazil) that
needs more professional in the area of English and it also needs more incentives for quality teaching. In the last two years,
as a master's student in English (in south of Brazil), I acquired relevant experience with teaching, research and extension
and, with that, I realized how much I can contribute to the improvement of the course in which I work as a professor
(Letras) and help to reorganize students' learning needs. I attended classes in the master's degree with a team of PhD and
post-doctoral professors with an extensive experience in linguistic and literary studies in English and I look forward to
using everything I learned, inspired by the same quality of teaching to provide better learning for academics and , thus,
form professional improvements. It is important to mention that I also had the opportunity to teach at the university
(UFSC) where I studied the master’s degree and there I had the experience to teach Business English for a few months. It
will be really important to learn more about this area and implement it at the current course where I teach.
My ultimate goal is to work on improving the course to increase efficiency in the training of professionals in the
area of English. With this scholarship, with the needs-based grants I will receive, being in contact with another country and
a different culture, I can develop more professional experience, improving the quality of teaching and learning in a foreign
language for Brazilian learners.
