Present perfect tense
FORMAÇÃO:
Sujeito + have / has + verbo principal
(verbo HAVE no presente) (Particípio Passado)

Present perfect tense

Particípio Passado
Para formar o past participle, acrescenta-se o -ed
no fim de verbos regulares;

Alguns verbos mudam sua escrita ao acrescentar o


-ed (o verbo to study se transforma em studied,
por exemplo);
Ex.: I have studied.

E, alguns verbos, não seguem as regras usuais dos


verbos regulares, sendo eles irregulares (o verbo
to write se tranforma em written, por exemplo).
Ex.: I have written.

Quando usamos o Present Perfect?

Usamos o Present Perfect para mostrar


o resultado de uma ação.
Ex.: (a) Ben is eating a chicken leg.

(b) Ben has eaten a chicken leg.


Atenção!!!!
Present perfect tense

Não podemos usar o Present Perfect com


advérbios de tempo definido, como:
Yesterday (ontem), two weeks ago (duas semanas
atrás)

 I have done my homework yesterday.

 I did my homework yesterday.


Quando usamos o Present Perfect? Present perfect tense

Yet
No Present Perfect, usamos yet em sentenças
interrogativas (já) ou negativas (ainda).

Have you eaten the apples yet? (question)


(Você já comeu as maçãs?)

‘Yet’ fica no FINAL da frase.

No, I haven’t eaten the apples yet. (negative)


Quando usamos o Present Perfect? Present perfect tense

Already
No Present Perfect, usamos already em
orações afirmativas.

- Have you eaten the apples yet? (question)


- Yes, I’ve already eaten the apples. (positive)
‘Already’ fica no MEIO e, menos comumente, no FINAL da oração.

or Yes, I’ve eaten the apples already. (positive)


Quando usamos o Present Perfect? Present perfect tense

Just
No Present Perfect, usamos just em orações
afirmativas, com o sentido de que a ação
acabou de acontecer.

I have just eaten the last apples. (positive)

‘Just’ fica no MEIO da oração.

Eu acabei de comer as últimas mãçãs.


Quando usamos o Present Perfect? Present perfect tense

Once / Twice
No Present Perfect, usamos once /twice
para expressar a frequência da ação.

- How many times have you given flowers to the


pop star ? (question)

- I’ve given flowers to a pop star once only.

‘once’ fica no FINAL da sentença.


Quando usamos o Present Perfect? Present perfect tense

ever / never
No Present Perfect, usamos ever (question)
e never (answer) para expressar frequência.

Have you ever celebrated the Cheung Chau Bun


Festival ? (question)

Tanto ‘Never’ quanto ‘Ever’ ficam no MEIO da oração.

Usamos o present perfect para falar sobre


ações que começaram no passado e continuam
no presente.

Ex. I’ve grown flowers for two years.

Usamos o present perfect com since e


for para dizer por quanto tempo uma
ação tem durado. (Since e For são usados
para indicar a duração da ação)

I have played the piano since 2017.

I have played the piano for five years.

Usamos since com o present perfect
para se referir ao ponto inicial da ação.

I have studied at this school since 2017.
