Objetivos:
Justificativa:
A evolução da resistência de pragas a táticas de controle, mais especificamente com relação aos
pesticidas e plantas geneticamente modificadas, tem se tornado um dos grandes entraves em
programas de manejo integrado de pragas (MIP). Até o final de 2020, já foram documentadas mais
de 600 espécies de insetos e ácaros resistentes a pelo menos um inseticida pertencente aos
principais grupos de inseticidas, incluindo produtos de origem biológica como Bacillus
thuringiensis. Como conseqüências drásticas da evolução da resistência estão as pulverizações mais
freqüente de pesticidas, uso de doses elevadas, uso de mistura de produtos e substituição por um
produto geralmente de maior toxicidade; levando ao comprometimento dos programas de MIP.
Associado a esses fatores, a descoberta de uma nova molécula química está se tornando cada vez
mais difícil e onerosa. A implementação de estratégias proativas de manejo da resistência de pragas
a plantas geneticamente modificadas que expressam toxinas de Bacillus thuringiensis é fundamental
para o sucesso dessa tecnologia. Portanto, a disciplina"Resistência de Artrópodes a Táticas de
Controle" possibilitará o treinamento de alunos para atuar nesta importante área de conhecimento
para a sustentabilidade da agricultura.
