Coimbra está a afirmar-se no acolhimento de grandes eventos desportivos

Nos últimos meses, Coimbra tem mostrado como é capaz de receber grandes e excelentes
eventos desportivos com grande eficácia e acérrimo entusiasmo. Competições nacionais e
internacionais de desportos motorizados, ginástica, triatlo, atletismo, entre outros. E, agora,
é a vez de acolher uma grande prova de ciclismo: o UCI Granfondo World Series Coimbra
Region! Coimbra denota, assim, um forte aumento na diversidade das provas desportivas que
acolhe e este é, sem dúvida, um caminho a continuar.

Com a presença de mais uma competição internacional, levamos também Coimbra aos quatro
cantos do mundo e mostramos ainda as diversas infraestruturas desportivas de que o concelho
é dotado. Promover grandes iniciativas desportivas mobilizadoras começa a ser uma das
posturas distintivas da atual gestão política da Câmara Municipal de Coimbra.

Sendo uma prova que se realiza entre os concelhos de Coimbra e Montemor-o-Velho é, também,
José Manuel Silva notória a capacidade de articulação e de ligação entre concelhos vizinhos, projetando, por sua
Presidente da Câmara Municipal de vez, a imagem da Região Centro.

sensibilize a população da Região para a importância do ciclável.

Destinada a ciclistas, ciclodesportistas e cicloturistas (federados ou não federados), de

qualquer nacionalidade, o meu desejo é que todos os participantes do UCI Granfondo World
Series Coimbra Region possam usufruir das excelentes ofertas do concelho. Para além da
prova desportiva, espero que possam aproveitar a oferta cultural e artística do concelho,
descobrir a nossa gastronomia, visitar o vasto e belíssimo património que dispomos, conhecer
os excelentes espaços verdes e jardins… No fundo, que fiquem com uma enorme vontade de
regressar a Coimbra!
MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR OF COIMBRA
Coimbra is making a name for itself in hosting major sporting events

In recent months, Coimbra has shown how it is capable of hosting great and excellent
sporting events with great efficiency and enthusiasm. National and international ompetitions
in motor sports, gymnastics, triathlons and athletics, among others. And now it is the turn
of a great cycling event: the UCI Granfondo World Series Coimbra Region! Coimbra shows,
therefore, a strong increase in the diversity of the sports events it hosts and this is, without a
doubt, a path to continue.

With the presence of another international competition, we also take Coimbra to the
four corners of the world and we also show the various sports infrastructures that the
municipality has. Promoting great mobilising sports initiatives has become one of the
distinctive postures of the current political management of Coimbra City Hall.

Since this event takes place between the municipalities of Coimbra and Montemor-o-Velho,
José Manuel Silva the capacity of articulation and connection between neighbouring municipalities is also
Mayor of Coimbra City Council notorious, projecting, in turn, the image of the Central Region.

We also hope that this race shows the importance of soft mobility modes and makes the
population of the region aware of the importance of cycling.

Aimed at cyclists, cyclo-sportspeople and cyclo-tourists (federated or not), of any nationality,

my wish is that all the participants in the UCI Granfondo World Series Coimbra Region can
enjoy the excellent offerings of the municipality. Besides the sportive event, I hope they can
enjoy the cultural and artistic offer of the municipality, discover our gastronomy, visit the
vast and beautiful heritage we have, get to know the excellent green spaces and gardens...
Basically, that they stay with a huge desire to return to Coimbra!

Montemor-o-Velho é, pela segunda vez consecutiva, ponto de partida e de reencontro do UCI
Granfondo World Series Coimbra Region. Todos os caminhos vêm dar a este concelho que,
para além de belo, diverso e com um património (natural, histórico, patrimonial, cultural,
desportivo) surpreendente, continua a afirmar-se como empreendedor, dinâmico e sem medo
de abraçar os desafios.
Em 2021 recebemos, com emoção e responsabilidade, a missão de fazer parte da primeira
edição desta importante prova de cicloturismo que, para além de promover o desporto,
celebrou a natureza e o património da singular região de Coimbra. E que prova! Que emoções!
A adrenalina da partida, intensa e cerrada como o nevoeiro que caía naquele dia 24 de outubro,
a multidimensionalidade do território, sempre acompanhada pelo Mondego, a superação em
cada pedalada na subida para o majestoso Castelo de Montemor-o-Velho...
Este ano vamos voltar a rasgar horizontes com mais uma viagem inesquecível pelas desafiantes
paisagens do percurso deste UCI Granfondo World Series Coimbra Region. Montemor-o-Velho
vai, certamente, desafiar-vos e inspirar-vos a desbravar a nossa natureza vibrante, a nossa
história de mais de 900 anos e as nossas surpreendentes tradições. Estou certo que a nossa
tentadora gastronomia, a nossa cultura e identidade muito próprias vão tornar este momento
desportivo de excelência ainda mais memorável e que todos/as, atletas, famílias e fãs, vão
sonhar com o regresso para novas descobertas, partilhas e celebrações.
A prova, aberta a todos os praticantes de BTT (federados e não federados), vai ser, sem
dúvida, mais um momento desportivo de excelência. O relevo e importância desportiva do UCI
Granfondo World Series Coimbra Region está, uma vez mais, comprovado pelo reconhecimento
da UCI como prova pontuável para o Campeonato do Mundo UCI Granfondo 2023, sendo o único
evento na Península Ibérica com esta qualificação.

Para além da componente desportiva, o evento assume uma vertente de sustentabilidade
que vem ao encontro das preocupações ambientais da autarquia, nomeadamente ao nível das
medidas tomadas para promoção da descarbonização, da criação de percursos cicláveis, assim
como para a promoção do uso da bicicleta como meio de transporte alternativo e seguro.

Neste concelho que foi a terra, do coração, de um dos grandes do ciclismo nacional, deixo-vos
como inspiração o exemplo de perseverança, luta, trabalho, perseguição de metas e conquista
que norteou Alves Barbosa. Que esta seja também uma jornada de descoberta, partilha e
celebração!

A todas as entidades e instituições que tornaram este evento uma realidade, o meu muito
obrigado em nome do concelho de Montemor-o-Velho!

Aos atletas, acompanhantes e fãs, desejo que levem de Montemor-o-Velho rápidas e

emocionantes pedaladas e que este seja mais um pretexto para regressar e para descobrir,
a pé ou de bicicleta, este concelho com uma gastronomia ímpar, pleno de História e com

MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR OF MONTEMOR-O-VELHO
Montemor-o-Velho is, for the second consecutive time, the starting and meeting point of the
UCI Granfondo World Series Coimbra Region. All roads lead to this municipality which, in
addition to being beautiful, diverse and with an amazing heritage (natural, historical, heritage,
cultural, sports), continues to assert itself as entrepreneurial, dynamic and unafraid to embrace
challenges.

In 2021 we received, with emotion and responsibility, the mission to be part of the first edition of
this important cycle touring event which, in addition to promoting sport, celebrated the nature
and heritage of the unique Coimbra region. And what a ride! What emotions! The adrenaline
at the start, intense and thick as the fog that fell on that October 24th, the multidimensionality
of the territory, always accompanied by the Mondego, the overcoming in each pedal stroke on
the way up to the majestic Montemor-o-Velho Castle?

This year we will once again open horizons with another unforgettable journey through the
challenging landscapes of the course of this UCI Granfondo World Series Coimbra Region.
Emílio Torrão Montemor-o-Velho will certainly challenge and inspire you to explore our vibrant nature, our
Mayor of Montemor-o-Velho City history of over 900 years and our surprising traditions. I am sure that our tempting gastronomy,
Council our very own culture and identity will make this sporting moment of excellence even more
memorable and that everyone, athletes, families and fans, will dream of returning for new
discoveries, sharing and celebrations.

The race, open to all mountain bikers (federated and non- federated), will undoubtedly be
another sporting moment of excellence. The relevance and sporting importance of the UCI
Granfondo World Series Coimbra Region is, once again, proven by the recognition of the UCI
as a punctuating event for the UCI Granfondo World Championship 2023, being the only event
in the Iberian Peninsula with this qualification.
MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR OF MONTEMOR-O-VELHO
In addition to the sports component, the event has a sustainability aspect that meets the
environmental concerns of the municipality, particularly in terms of the measures taken to
promote decarbonisation, the creation of cycle paths, as well as to promote the use of the
bicycle as an alternative and safe means of transport.

In this municipality which was the heartland of one of the greats of national cycling, I leave you
with the example of perseverance, struggle, work, pursuit of goals and conquest that guided
Alves Barbosa. May this also be a day of discovery, sharing and celebration!

To all entities and institutions that made this event a reality, my thanks on behalf of the
municipality of Montemor-o-Velho!

To the athletes, companions and fans, I wish they take from Montemor-o-Velho fast and exciting
rides and that this is another excuse to return and to discover, on foot or by bike, this county
with a unique gastronomy, full of History and unforgettable landscapes any time of the year.

On July 30th and 31st, the world will pedal in the UCI Granfondo World Series Coimbra Region

É com enorme satisfação que a Federação Portuguesa de Ciclismo apoia a edição 2022 do
grandioso UCI Granfondo World Series - Coimbra Region.
Por um lado, porque trata-se de uma prova integrada num circuito internacional de enorme
prestígio, com elevado nível organizativo, demonstrativo da capacidade de trabalho e
experiência das equipas nacionais que concretizaram este projeto - e num contexto
particularmente desafiante, onde os efeitos da pandemia ainda se fazem sentir.
Seguidamente, porque a realização deste Granfondo – único em Portugal, pela possibilidade
de apuramento para os Mundiais 2022 - vai ao encontro das tendências mais recentes do
turismo ativo e desportivo, nas quais o ciclismo, nas suas diversas vertentes, proporciona
um forte contributo para a ativação do território, bem como para a dinamização das
economias e comunidades locais, de forma social e ambientalmente sustentável. Neste
contexto, o UCI Granfondo World Series - Coimbra Region assume-se como um eventoâncora
para consolidar a imagem do nosso país como um destino de excelência para a
prática da modalidade, em contexto desportivo ou de recreio, potenciando outras
iniciativas, do Portuguese Trails ao Cyclin’ Portugal.
Em terceiro lugar, destaque-se a mobilização e o envolvimento de um vasto leque de
parceiros públicos e privados, comprometidos com o ciclismo, cuja visão partilhada,
contributo e colaboração proporcionou sinergias que elevam a experiência de participar
neste Evento ao mais elevado patamar internacional.

It is with great satisfaction that the Portuguese Cycling Federation supports the 2022 edition
of the UCI Granfondo World Series - Coimbra Region.
On the one hand, because it is an event integrated in an international circuit of enormous
prestige, with a high organizational level, demonstrating the work capacity and experience
of the national teams that carried out this project - and in a particularly challenging context,
where the effects of the pandemic are still felt.
Secondly, because the realization of this Granfondo - unique in Portugal, due to the
possibility of qualifying for the 2022 World CHampionships - meets the most recent trends
in active and sports tourism, in which cycling, in its various dimensions, provides a strong
contribution to the activation of the territory, as well local economies and communities, in a
socially and environmentally sustainable way. In this context, the UCI Granfondo World
Series - Coimbra Region assumes itself as an anchor event to consolidate the image of our
country as a destination of excellence for the practice of the modality, in a sports or
recreational context, promoting other initiatives like Portuguese Trails or Cyclin’ Portugal.
Thirdly, we highlight the mobilization and involvement of a wide range of public and private
partners, committed to cycling, whose shared vision, contribution and collaboration
provided synergies that elevate the experience of participating in this Event to the highest
international level.
To all those who came to participate - testing their own physical and mental limits, but,
above all, to have fun - as well as to their friends and family who will enjoy, during these
days, the unique charms of this Region, my sincere wishes for an excellent experience. Keep

É para nós uma enorme honra trazer para Portugal, pelo segundo ano consecutivo, a
espetacularidade do UCI GranFondo World Series - Coimbra Region, by Black Jack, aquele
que é o mais internacional evento de ciclismo para todos em Portugal.

Coimbra receberá as emoções do contrarrelógio. Sempre com vista para o Mondego, todo o
cenário do CRI estará montado na cidade dos estudantes e, como pano de fundo, a “Alta e Sofia”
Universidade de Coimbra, o participante estará num dos centros turísticos mais importantes
de Portugal, podendo apreciar toda a tradição académica e todo o património da UNESCO.

As distâncias Granfondo e Mediofondo, terão partida e chegada no dia seguinte em Montemor-

o-Velho, com passagem por V. N. de Poiares, Góis, Lousã e Miranda do Corvo. Os atletas
usufruirão de uma riqueza paisagística imensurável e, à chegada, poderão sentir os extensos
arrozais que oscilam ao sabor das estações acompanhando os sinais de mudança e o majestoso
Castelo em estilo Românico e Gótico, onde estará instalada a meta, com uma chegada em alto,
para uma maior espetacularidade do final da prova de fundo.

It is a great honour for us to bring to Portugal, for the second consecutive year, the spectacular
UCI GranFondo World Series - Coimbra Region, by Black Jack, the most international cycling
event for all in Portugal.

Coimbra will receive the emotions of the time trial. Always overlooking the Mondego river,
the whole TT scene will be set in the city of students and, as a backdrop, the “Alta e Sofia”
University of Coimbra, the participant will be in one of the most important tourist centres of
Portugal, being able to appreciate all the academic tradition and all the UNESCO heritage.

The Granfondo and Mediofondo distances will start and finish the following day in Montemor-
o-Velho, passing through V. N. de Poiares, Góis, Lousã and Miranda do Corvo. The athletes
will enjoy the immeasurable richness of the landscape and, on arrival, they will be able to feel
the extensive rice fields that change with the seasons, following the signs of change and the
majestic Romanesque and Gothic Castle, where the finish line will be installed, with a high
finish line, for greater spectacularity at the end of the long distance race.

In a challenging event like this, the partnership with Blackjack Wheels as naming sponsor
was a natural one. The only UCI cyclo-touring event open to all cyclists looking for fun,
challenge and adventure.
It made perfect sense for Blackjack Wheels to be associated with this event which, above
all, represents a unique experience, promoting the best that the Coimbra region has to offer
through sports.
A cycling event that mirrors the values of Blackjack Wheels - the sharing of experiences, the
passion for cycling, and the ambition to never give up until the last second of the ride.

APRESENTAÇÃO
UCI Gran Fondo World Series Coimbra Region pretende assumir-se em Portugal como o maior e mais internacional evento de ciclismo alguma vez
já realizado em Portugal.

A 30 e 31 de julho de 2022 será realizada a segunda edição do UCI Granfondo World Series Coimbra Region. É um evento de cicloturismo, aberto à
participação de todos os ciclistas, ciclodesportistas e cicloturistas (federados ou não federados), de ambos os sexos, de qualquer nacionalidade, e
maiores de 19 anos de idade à data do evento.

Composto por dois dias de evento, os atletas terão a oportunidade de realizar no sábado (30-07-2022) um contrarrelógio e no domingo (31-07-2022)
o Granfondo. Existirão 2 distâncias, granfondo e mediofondo (os percursos estão em definição).
Coimbra irá receber o contrarrelógio, que conta com um percurso pouco técnico e de dificuldade média. É considerada uma das mais importantes
cidades portuguesas, sendo uma cidade historicamente universitária, por causa da Universidade de Coimbra, uma das mais antigas da Europa e
das maiores de Portugal, fundada em 1290. Uma das cidades mais antigas do país, foi a capital de Portugal antes de Lisboa, até 1255, e nela está o
primeiro Panteão Nacional, o Mosteiro de Santa Cruz.

As distâncias Granfondo e Mediofondo, serão recebidas no dia 31-07-2022 em Montemor-o-Velho. Aqui, o participante poderá sentir os extensos
arrozais que oscilam ao sabor das estações acompanhando os sinais de mudança e o Castelo. Visitar o concelho de Montemor-o-Velho é descobrir a
ancestralidade de um povo e descortinar pistas para um futuro pleno de desenvolvimento. Irá com toda a certeza, contemplar os ventos do progresso.

Esta região triunfa no seu todo, permitindo uma multiplicidade de experiências que vão muito além de um simples evento desportivo.
Não só os atletas mas também os seus acompanhantes, conseguirão, dentro desta enorme região, desfrutar da heterogeneidade paisagística da
praia até à serra.
Poderão deliciar-se gastronomicamente entre a sardinha, o arroz ou a lampreia, e rematar saboreando o soberbo pastel de tentúgal ou um dos
maravilhosos queijos, regando sempre com um sumptuoso vinho da região.

Este grande evento conta com o aval internacional do UCI Gran Fondo World Series, fazendo parte de um grupo selecionado de eventos que, a nível
internacional, pontuam para os campeonatos mundiais desta disciplina e que rondam os 25 ao redor do mundo. Além disso, é o único evento na
Península Ibérica com esta qualificação, o que constitui uma oportunidade única para os participantes.

PRESENTATION
UCI Gran Fondo World Series Coimbra Region aims to establish itself in Portugal as the biggest and most international cycling event ever held in
Portugal.

On 30 and 31 July 2022, the second edition of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series Coimbra Region will be held. It is a cycling touring event, open to all
cyclists, cyclo-sport cyclists and cyclo-tourists (federated or un federated), of both sexes, of any nationality, and over the age of 19 on the date of
the event.

The event consists of two days, on Saturday (30-07-2022) the athletes will have the opportunity to do a time trial and on Sunday (31-07-2022) the
Granfondo. There will be 2 distances, granfondo and mediofondo (the courses are still being defined).
Coimbra will receive the time trial, which has a not very technical course of average difficulty. It is considered one of the most important
Portuguese cities, being a historically university city, because of the University of Coimbra, one of the oldest in Europe and one of the biggest
in Portugal, founded in 1290. One of the oldest cities in the country, it was the capital of Portugal before Lisbon, until 1255, and in it is the first
National Pantheon, the Monastery of Santa Cruz.

The Granfondo and Mediofondo distances will be hosted on 31-07-2022 in Montemor-o-Velho. Here, the participant will be able to feel the
extensive rice fields that oscillate with the seasons following the signs of change and the Castle. Visiting the municipality of Montemor-o-Velho
means discovering the ancestry of a people and uncovering clues to a future full of development. You will certainly see the winds of progress.

This region triumphs as a whole, allowing a multiplicity of experiences that go far beyond a simple sporting event.
Not only the athletes but also those accompanying them will be able, within this enormous region, to enjoy the heterogeneous landscape from the
beach to the mountains.
They will be able to enjoy the gastronomic delights of sardines, rice or lamprey, and finish off with a superb pastel de tentúgal or one of the
marvellous cheeses, always washed down with a sumptuous wine from the region.

This great event has the international endorsement of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, being part of a selected group of events that, on an
international level, score points for the world championships of this discipline, which are around 25 around the world. In addition, it is the only
event on the Iberian Peninsula with this qualification, which is a unique opportunity for participants.

ROMPE AS REGRAS
AVISOS GERAIS
No dia 30-07-2022, o Contrarrelógio será realizado num percurso fechado
ao trânsito.
No dia 31-07-2022 o Granfondo/Mediofondo decorrerão em estradas
abertas ao trânsito. Todos os participantes deverão respeitar
escrupulosamente as regras de trânsito constantes no código da estrada,
com especial atenção à obrigatoriedade de circular na sua mão e respeitar
as prioridades nos cruzamentos.
Ao longo de todo o percurso, existirão elementos de força de segurança
e elementos da organização, colocado estrategicamente de forma móvel
e apeada, visando zelar pela segurança de todos os participantes. Não
obstante a presença destes elementos, os atletas são obrigados a cumprir
as regras de trânsito constantes no código da estrada (como referido
acima).
A prova será enquadrada por forças de segurança, que garantirão o
cumprimento das normas de trânsito por parte de todos os elementos
envolvidos na prova e dos restantes veículos em circulação.
Com o propósito de proporcionar a dinâmica de “Roda Livre” em todo
o percurso, as viaturas da organização encabeçam a prova e adaptarão
por norma de uma velocidade adequada de modo a não condicionar o
andamento dos participantes. No entanto, face a condição que assim
o exijam, as viaturas da organização poderão condicionar a velocidade
dos participantes, estando estes proibidos de ultrapassa as viaturas que

As forças de segurança que enquadram a prova impedirão a circulação
de veículos de apoio no meio dos ciclistas em prova, assegurando o
cumprimento do código da estrada.
GENERAL WARNINGS
On 30-07-2022 the time trial will be held on a road closed to traffic.
On 31-07-2022 the Granfondo/Mediofondo will take place on roads
open to traffic. All participants must scrupulously respect the traffic
rules in the highway code, with special attention to the obligation
to circulate in your hand and respect priorities at crossroads.
Throughout the course, there will be security forces and members
of the organisation, strategically placed in a mobile and on foot,
in order to ensure the safety of all participants. Despite the
presence of these elements, the athletes are obliged to follow the
traffic rules contained in the highway code (as mentioned above).
The race will be supervised by security forces, who will
guarantee the fulfilment of the traffic rules by all the elements
involved in the race and by the remaining vehicles in circulation.
In order to provide the dynamics of “free wheeling” all over the
course, the organization’s vehicles will head the race and will adapt
themselves to an adequate speed, so as not to affect the progress of the
participants. However, when conditions so demand, the organisation’s
vehicles may condition the speed of the participants, being forbidden
to overtake the vehicles that are at the front of the race. Athletes who
break this rule will be, from the moment they overtake the vehicles

It is strictly forbidden the assistance given to the athletes by support
vehicles from outside the organisation. It is also forbidden the circulation

OBSERVAÇÕES
Os atletas são OBRIGADOS a:
• Utilizar capacete de ciclismo devidamente homologado;
• Levar o telemóvel, ligado e com bateria completamente carregada;
• Frontal colocado no guiador de forma visível (o frontal tem o chip de
controlo de tempo colocado e por isso é obrigatória a sua colocação no
guiador. ATENÇÃO: Não poderão dobrar o frontal sob risco de o chip de
controlo de tempo ficar danificado);
• Dorsal devidamente colocado no jersey/camisola;
• Pulseira de identificação, com contactos de emergência, colocada no
pulso permanentemente (esta pulseira é entrege no secretariado dentro
de um envelope);
• Câmaras de ar, bomba de ar e desmontas,
• Suplementação líquida e sólida (existem 2 abastecimentos para a
distância Mediofondo e 4 abastecimentos para a distância de Granfondo).
OBSERVATIONS

• Wear a duly homologated cycling helmet;
• Carry a mobile phone, connected and with its battery fully charged;
• Frontal placed in the handlebar in a visible way (the frontal has the time

In order to guarantee the integrity and safety of the participants,
together with the security and emergency forces of the event, the
organization defines deadlines for the turning of the Granfondo:
Time control: Bypass Mediofondo/Granfondo (separation –
km42.3) - closes at 10:50am.
From the above mentioned times, no cyclist will be able to opt
for another distance, being forwarded by the elements of the
organization to the distance that is available.
Participants who do not respect these indications, and choose
to go by their own means, are required to deliver at the time
control post or another element of the organization, its front and
back with the respective number of participants, no longer being
framed by the organization of the event and assuming at its own
risk its destination from that moment on.

event.
Maintaining our policy of eco-sustainability, and in syntony with
all the partners involved in this event, we pretend to encourage
ecological acts with deep respect for the environment, and in this
sense, this event takes the following measures:
• Replacement of plastics cups for paper cups;
• Reuse of materials;
• Eco-raffle;
• Cleaning of the course after the last athlete.
We hope to have your support to implement more measures, and
with that be more and more environmentally friendly.
EQUIPAMENTO OFICIAL DO EVENTO OFFICIAL OUTFIT OF THE EVENT
MECÂNICA
A organização disporá de assistência mecânica ao longo da prova
que procurará resolver os problemas mecânicos possíveis de
resolver em cenário de prova.
A assistência mecânica será composta por equipas fixas e
outras móveis que de deslocarão ao longo do percurso, no
entanto por razões de dinâmica da prova ou por dificuldades
de posicionamento, assimo como pela complexidade da própria
avaria, este serviço poderá não assegurar a assistência de
todos os pasticipantes. Deste modo, os atletas são obrigados a
salvaguardar e transporte consigo bomba-de-ar/CO2, câmaras
de ar, desmontas.
A existência desta assistência mecânica não iliba os participantes
do dever de preparar devidamente a sua bicicleta, assegurando-
se que esta se encontra nas melhores condições quando alinham
à partida.
Aconselhamos que nos dias que antecedem o evento o atleta
verifique o estado geral da sua bicicleta (travões, pneus,
corrente,...).
A organização não poderá nunca ser responsabilizada pelo
abandono de um atleta por falta de assistência mecânica.
MECHANIC
The organization will provide mechanical assistance throughout
the event, that will try to fix mechanical issues on the course.
The mechanical assistance is composed of stationary and mobile
teams that will drive throughout the course, however for reasons
of the event dynamics or because of difficulty of positioning, as
well as the complexity of the issue itself, this service may not
assure assistance to all the participants. With this, is mandatory
for athletes to safeguard and carry with themselves air pumps/
CO2 air chambers and tire levers.
The existence of this mechanical assistance does not clear the
participant of the duty to prepare his/her bike, assuring that the
bike is in the best conditions when aligning at the starting line.
We advise the athlete to verify the overall condition of the bike,
the days before the event (brakes, tires, chains,...).
The organization can never be responsible for the abandonment
of an athlete for lack of mechanical assistance.

Cerimóna protocolar de pódio e entrega de prémios serão

UCI Gran Fondo World Series concede direitos de
qualificação para o Campeonato Mundial, a realizar
em local a ser definido pela UCI, em setembro de
2022.
Os atletas são qualificados da seguinte forma:
• Os três primeiros atletas de cada categoria oficial
estabelecida, tanto masculinos quanto femininos
classificam diretamente para o Campeonato Mundial
(independentemente do número de atletas que corram
no mesmo escalão desde que terminem a distância);
• Os primeiros 20% dos atletas de cada categoria oficial
estabelecida serão qualificados, obtendo pontos para
o Campeonato Mundial UCI Gran Fondo. Os 20% são
calculados com base no número de participantes de
cada categoria oficial estabelecida, que alinham à
partida e não no número de corredores inscritos ou
que terminam a corrida.
Exemplo: se houverem 100 participantes numa
categoria, os primeiros 20 atletas dessa categoria a
chegar à linha de meta serão os que obterão pontos
para participar no Campeonato Mundial UCI Gran
Fondo.
Os atletas devem terminar a corrida para obter a
qualificação.

QUALIFICATION FOR THE
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
According to the World Championship UCI Gran Fondo
official qualification system, each UCI Gran Fondo
World Series event grants the right of qualification
for the World Championship, held on location to be
decided by UCI, in September 2022.
The athletes will be qualified in the following manner:
• The first three athletes of each official class, both
male and female, will be directly qualified to the World
Championship (regardless of the number of athletes
that participate in said class).
• The first 20% of the athletes in each established
official category will qualify, gaining points for the
UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. The 20% is
calculated based on the number of participants in
each established official category who line up at the
start and not on the number of runners entered or
finishing the race.
Example: if there were 100 participants in a class, the
first 20 athletes of that class to arrive at the finish
line will be granted points to participate in the World
Championship UCI Gran Fondo.
The athletes must finish the race to obtain the
qualification.
The UCI Gran Fondo World Series regulations establish the following classes:

ECOSSORTEIO
“Ser limpinho com muita honra!”
O Coimbra Granfondo Region irá sortear três prémios
entre os atletas mais preocupados com a natureza (3
sorteios).
Procedimento:
No final do percurso, na zona de secretariado, os
atletas escrevem o seu número de frontal em casa
embalagem de suplementos vazia que tenham trazido
consigo até à meta.
Após isso, o atleta coloca as embalagens vazias, com
o seu número de frontal numa “tombola” para que
depois se proceda ao sorteio.
O sorteio é realizado durante a cerimónia protocolar
de entrega de prémios, no dia 31/07/2022, a partir
das 14h00.
NOTA: Quem decidir, por iniciativa própria, recolher
embalagens de outros atletas que se encontrem no
percurso, poderá colocar a embalagem na “tombola!”
com o seu número!
Queremos com esta medida premiar os atletas
preocupados com a natureza.
ECO RAFLE
“To be clean with a lot of honor!”
The Granfondo Coimbra Region will raffle three prizes
among the athletes most concerned with nature (3
drawings).
Procedure:
At the end of the course, in the secretariat area, the
athletes write their number of front at home empty
supplement packaging that have brought with you to
the finish line.
After that, the athlete places the empty packages,
with their front number on a “tombola” so that the
draw can be carried out afterwards.
The draw is carried out during the protocol award

SEGURO
Para os atletas com inscrição como não federados,
a organização providencia um seguro de acidentes
pessoais, com as seguintes coberturas capitais por
pessoa:
• Morte por Acidente | 28.043,00€
• Invalidez Permanente por Acidente | 28.043,00€
• Despesas de Tratamento por acidente | 4.487,00€
• Despesas de Funeral (Gastos) | 2.244,00€
• Franquias p/ pessoa | 90,00€ (suportada pelo atleta
em caso de sinistro)
Caso exista alguma ocorrência, o atleta deve
obrigatoriamente comunicar à organização no próprio
dia, para que seja registado em ata final de prova, e
possa ser integrado no seguro de prova (caso tenha
subscrito o mesmo).
O seguro subscrito é realizado pela Federação
Portuguesa de Ciclismo, funciona em regime de
contrarreembolso, e todas as faturas deverão ser
enviadas posteriormente ao mediador de seguro que
encaminhará a situação.
Este seguro implica a filiação do atleta, na Federação
Portuguesa de Ciclismo, por um dia.
INSURANCE
For athletes registered as non-federated, the
organization provides personal accident insurance,
with the following capital coverage per person:
• Accidental Death | €28,043.00
• Permanent Disability due to Accident | €28,043.00
• Accidental Treatment Expenses | €4,487.00
• Funeral Expenses (Expenses) | €2,244.00
• Deductibles per person | €90.00 (supported by the
athlete in case of accident)
If there is any occurrence, the athlete must obligatorily
communicate to the organization on the same day, so
that it can be registered in the final minutes of the
race, and can be included in the race insurance (if you
have subscribed for it).
The insurance underwritten is carried out by the
Portuguese Cycling Federation, it works on a counter-
refund basis, and all invoices must be sent later to
the insurance intermediary who will forward the
situation.
This insurance implies the athlete’s membership in
the Portuguese Cycling Federation for one day.
