The present work approaches, politics and education in Castro Alves-nanny's Versatile State
School, in a historical perspective (1964/1974), proposed by the agreement MEC-USAID
(Ministry of Education and Culture and United States Agency Goes International
Development, respectively), for the creation of the Versatile Schools, based in the Theory of
the Human Capital, in a context marked by the ideology of the politics desenvolvimentistas of
the Military Governments in Brazil, result of the International Politics of Alliance for the
Progress in some countries of Latin America. And the Versatile Schools were a copy of
COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL Norte-americana, accomplished by a North American
Academical Institution, to SAN DIEGO STATE COLLEGE FOUNDATION, made official
in Brazil by LDB 5.692/71. This research part of a qualitative approach, taking as
presupposed theoretical-methodological the concepts and them perspectives of the new
history, considering the changes and permanences happened in the course of the time, as the
historian's tool. The sources that guided the research are: documental sources of file, orals and
iconográfica. Castro Alves-nanny's Versatile Public School, of this period is fruit of the
official speech of a Military Government that you/they stay starting from the alliances with
the politics of the postwar period, characterizing, therefore, the interests of a specific group.
