What are phrasal verbs?

Phrasal verbs are verbal structures composed of two particles: verb + adjective, adverb or
preposition that serve to define specific actions or states. Thanks to this, from the same verb, for
example, burn, compound verbs can be created that are very different from each other: burn out
(extinct), burn down (to burn completely, to ashes) or burn up (to cause anger, drive high speed).
In addition, thanks to the fact that its use among native English speakers is very widespread, it is a
subject that is essential to master for students of the language.

Hi guys! What does
everyone think about feng shui? The idea is
to make positive energy flow more freely
through your home. For example , in your
bedroom, you have to take out thing like
electronics or exercise equipment because
their energy interrupts your sleep. They say
you should have soft, relaxing colors like
beige or pastels for walls, rugs, and
curtains. You don`t have to eliminate all
bright colors, but you should use them for
small objects only. There are also rules
about furniture. You need to sleep with
your feet facing away from the door. For
example. I`m thinking of doing it in my
bedroom, but I`m not sure. Is it really
worth it. Or is it a lot of change for
nothing?
I wanted to feel calm and relaxed in my
room, so I did all of those things. The
result? More stress! Now I have to use my
computer in the living room while my
family is watching TV and my exercise
stuff is in the garage! Those relaxing
colors? They`re really boring! My
conclusion is that your room has to have
colors and style that you like, and it has to
be functional.
I never follow trends in decorating. I know
what I like, and I don`t need advice from
“experts” I prefer to create my own style.
But last month, I read a lot about fen shui,
and I decide to redesign my bedroom the
walls were dark blue, so I painted them
peach. I moved , my bed, so now my feet
don`t face the doo, and I also put some
plants in my bedroom for positive energy. I

Hola chicos! ¿Qué piensa todo el mundo
sobre el feng shui? La idea es hacer que la
energía positiva fluya más libremente por
tu hogar. Por ejemplo, en tu dormitorio,
tienes que sacar cosas como aparatos
electrónicos o equipos de ejercicio porque
su energía interrumpe tu sueño. Dicen que
debes tener colores suaves y relajantes
como el beige o los pasteles para paredes,
alfombras y cortinas. No tienes que
eliminar todos los colores brillantes, pero
debes usarlos solo para objetos pequeños.
También hay reglas sobre los muebles.
Tienes que dormir con los pies de espaldas
a la puerta. Por ejemplo. Estoy pensando
en hacerlo en mi habitación, pero no estoy
seguro. ¿Realmente vale la pena? ¿O es
mucho cambio por nada?
Quería sentirme tranquila y relajada en mi
habitación, así que hice todas esas cosas.
¿El resultado? ¡Más estrés! ¡Ahora tengo
que usar mi computadora en la sala de estar
mientras mi familia mira televisión y mis
cosas de ejercicio están en el garaje! ¿Esos
colores relajantes? ¡Son realmente
aburridos! Mi conclusión es que tu

Nunca sigo las tendencias en decoración.
Sé lo que me gusta y no necesito consejos
de “expertos”, prefiero crear mi propio
estilo. Pero el mes pasado, leí mucho sobre
el fen shui y decidí rediseñar mi
dormitorio. Las paredes eran de color azul
oscuro, así que las pinté de color
melocotón. Moví mi cama, así que ahora

Young people have to make many decisions
when they graduate from high school. For
example, they have to decide if they what type
of job to look for. In some countries, one of
the biggest decisions for young adults is where
to live. Do they continue to live whit their
family or move out? Young people who are
going to collage in a different town often live
in a dormitory (dorm) on campus. Many
parents like this option because their children
are living away from home, but they have
rules and adult supervision in a dorm. Some
young people choose to rent a room in a
house. Others decide to rent a house or an
apartment to share with friends. This last
option is more common for people aga 20 or
older.
