Affirmative form
Examples:
• I am happy
• You/We/They are Brazilian
• He/She/It is Portuguese
Contracted form (Forma escrita contraída):
Examples:
• I’m happy = I am happy
• You/We/They’re Brazilian = You/We/They are Brazilian
• He/She/It’s Portuguese = He/She/It is Portuguese
Negative form
To make a negative sentence, you need to add the word “not” after the
conjugation:
Examples:
• I am not happy
• You/We/They are not Brazilian
• He/She/It is not Portuguese
Examples:
• Am I happy?
• Are you/we/they Brazilian?
• Is he/she/it Portuguese?
