TESTE MOLECULAR PARA DETECÇÃO DO CORONAVÍRUS SARS-CoV-2

Material: Swab nasofaríngeo

RESULTADO: DETECTADO (Presença de RNA específico de SARS-CoV-2)

INTERPRETAÇÃO DO RESULTADO: Este laudo deve ser interpretado por um especialista correlacionando o
contexto clínico e epidemiológico do paciente, em conjunto com outros achados laboratoriais. Esse
teste avalia alvos específicos para o coronavírus SARS-CoV-2. Se algum dos alvos investigados ampli-
ficar o resultado é considerado "Detectado". O resultado "Não Detectado" não descarta a presença do
vírus, que pode estar em concentrações inferiores ao limite de detecção do teste, principalmente nos
dias iniciais da infecção.

NOTA: As principais variantes de Preocupação (Variants of Concern - VOC) e de Interesse (Variants

of Interest - VOI) do SARS-CoV-2, agrupadas pela Organização Mundial da Saúde, não impactam o
desempenho do TESTE MOLECULAR PARA DETECÇÃO DO CORONAVÍRUS SARS-CoV-2.

MÉTODO: RT-PCR para detecção molecular qualitativa do coronavírus SARS-CoV-2. Este teste é executado
na plataforma Seegene STARlet e avalia a amplificação dos genes específicos do SARS-CoV-2: N, RdRp
ou S. O limite de detecção do vírus SARS-CoV-2 é de 50 cópias/reação, de acordo com dados do fabri-
cante. O método empregado neste exame foi validado ou verificado pelo setor de Biologia Molecular
do Sabin Medicina Diagnóstica.

MOLECULAR TEST FOR CORONAVIRUS SARS-CoV-2 DETECTION

Material: Nasopharyngeal swab
RESULT: DETECTED (Presence of specific SARS-CoV-2 RNA)
RESULT INTERPRETATION:
Result interpretation must always be performed by a qualified professional able to correlate it
with both clinical and epidemiological data, considering the ideal moment of sample collection
regarding symptoms onset. This test evaluates specific targets for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
If any of the investigated targets amplify, result is considered "Detected". The "Not Detected"
result does not rule out virus presence in a concentration below the limit of detection of the
test, which can occur in the initial days of infection.

NOTE: The main SARS-CoV-2 Variants of Concern (VOC) and Variants of Interest (VOI), grouped by
the World Health Organization, do not impact the performance of the MOLECULAR TEST FOR CORONA-
VIRUS SARS-CoV-2 DETECTION.

METHOD: RT-PCR for qualitative molecular detection of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. This test is per-
formed on the Seegene STARlet platform and assesses the amplification of the N, RdRp and S genes,
specific
targets of SARS-CoV-2. The limit of detection for SARS-CoV-2 virus is 50 copies/reaction, accor-
ding to the manufacturer's data. The method employed in this test was validated or verified by
the Molecular Biology team at Sabin Medicina Diagnóstica.
