DEVITRIFICAÇÃO
➢ Fase cristalina comum que pode surgir em vidros soda-
cal: devitrita
➢ Na2O.3CaO.6SiO2
➢ Temperatura de máxima
cristalização ~900ºC A low magnification photograph of devitrite needles nucleated on
the surface of a float glass block after a heat treatment of 17 h at
850°C observed in transmitted polarized light with a sensitive tint
at 45° to the polarizer and analyzer, which are aligned vertically
and horizontally, respectively. The needles are in a thin section cut
perpendicular to the surface of the glass block. The edge of the
sample of float glass is just above the scale marker.
➢ Vitrocerâmicas:
➢Sistema importante: cristais do sistema Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2
(beta eucriptita):
• Vision (Corning) cristais pequenos - transparente
• Pyroceram (Corning) cristais maiores - translúcido branco

3. Espelhos para telescópios
4. Substratos para discos rígidos
5. Vitrocerâmica usinável
