DESCRIPTION

The ESTROMAT 850 has been designed especially for processing dry refractory building
materials.

The machine consists basically of the following subassemblies:

- frame
- vessel
- mixer with drive
- air armature
- water tank with armature
- electric control

The vessel is mounted with the built-in mixer on the frame.

The right water quantity for one mixture flows via the water armature in the water tank. From
there water is added, if required, via a ball valve R 2" to the refractory material.

The mixer is driven by a powerful three-phase motor through a parallel shaft.

The mixing vessel is air tightly closed by a cover with an eccentric lever. After closing the air
valve, open the main air valve. In the mid position of both valves for upper air and accelerator,
slug conveying starts and blows vessel content through conveying hose in approx. 2-3 min. to
the site.

As special equipment we offer a small compressed air ball vibrator for the charging hopper.
When required this vibrator will be operated through a ball valve to facilitate the dropping of dry
material from charging hopper into vessel.

As further additional equipment, we have a heatable water tank which heats the water for the
material mixture. Due to the heating of the water, in case of low outdoor temperature, several
refractory materials can be mixed much easier. The heating power/water heating can be directly
adjusted at a heat valve at the heaters. The heating is turned on at a separate control box
situated on the left side below water tank.

A fully automatic central lubricating system lubricates the two mixing shaft bearings every 3
hours or at every re-starting. The level control in the grease container has to be checked
manually.

ESTROMAT 850, Operating instructions page 9 of 24

Blow Back Device

The blow back device is useful for mixing quality and to prevent stoppers at vessel outlet.
Unmixed material which is placed at vessel outlet during filling of vessel will be removed and
fed into the vessel.

Before filling the vessel, the vessel outlet is closed by a squeeze valve. The squeeze valve
should only be admitted with 2 bar, as otherwise the rubber sleeve will be destroyed. Air is
permanently blown into the vessel outlet through a by-pass line (optional) with adjustable air
capacity. This prevents that the dry material gets stuck into the vessel outlet during mixing.

After vessel filling (mixing process is still running), vessel cover has to be closed while air relief
valve has to stay opened. Add compressed air into accelerator for a short while (approx. 3
sec.), so that unmixed material will be blown back from vessel outlet into vessel. This procedure
guarantees a continuous mixture of the whole material and avoids material stoppers.

tank by pushing "AUTO ON". Water inflow can be stopped by pushing "AUTO OFF
MANUAL". Pushing this button longer, water is still allowed to flow in.

Charging and Conveying

8. Switch motor on.

9. Charge vessel with material to be mixed.

10. Open ball valve for water and close it again.

11. Close cover and eccentric lever. Close air release valve.

12. Open main valve..

13. Activate blow back device (if existing).

14. Open lower air valve half way.

15. Open vessel air valve slowly.

During conveying

If vessel pressure remains below 2 bar, close lower air valve partially, until 2,5 - 6 bar
(depending on conveying distance) vessel pressure is reached. If vessel pressure rises above 6
bar, close upper air valve partially.

ESTROMAT 850, Operating instructions page 20 of 24

End of conveying

If vessel pressure drops below 1 bar

- close main air valve

- Do not blow conveying line completely empty - risk of segregation!
- Open air release valve
- Open vessel cover
- Feed again

For special attention

Grease at least daily the 2 bearing lubricating nipples and lubricating nipple on eccentric cover.

For operation check, let safety valve blow off once daily by turning valve head.

After the end of work, thoroughly clean the machine and remove mortar residues.

Check space between blade and vessel wall: up to 10 mm grain size approx.
13 mm space, larger grain size approx. 20 mm space.

Faults

Caution in case of blockages in conveying line:

- determine blockage and remove by striking hose

- when uncoupling hoses, wear protective goggles, risk of eye injuries!
- hose is possibly under pressure

OBSERVE SAFETY RULES OF TRADE ASSOCIATION!!!
