In this leson we're going to learn

the correct way of use ''Indefinite
Article'', using expressions,
vocabullary and listening.

Indefinite article

Palavras que precedem os substantivos. Em inglês, os artigos

indefinidos são ''a'' e ''an'', que significam: um e uma. Nós os
utilizamos somente antes de substantivos no singular e que sejam
contáveis.

An é utilizado antes de substantivos no singular que se iniciem por

vogais:

- An eraser
- An apple
- An idea
- An ugly cat

Porém, há uma exceção para essa regrinha, quando há palavras que

se iniciam com a letra H, sendo ela sem som algum, também
podemos iniciar com o artigo indefinido ''An''. Como por exemplo:
 - An hour
- An honest guy
- An honor

A é utilizado antes de substantivos no singular que se iniciem por consoantes,

por h, quando este for pronunciado, ou por vogais que tenham som de
consoantes:

- A book
- A pencil
- A backpack
- A notebook
- A hospital
- A horse
- A university

 Como usar?
Ao usar os demonstrative
pronouns" deve- se notar se "a
coisa” ( pessoa, objeto ou
animal) para qual se aponta,
está perto ou distante. Depois,
observamos se ele é singular ou
plural:

• This is my father.

Este é meu pai. (O pai está próximo do falante.)

• That is my father.

Aquele é meu pai. (O pai está distante do falante.)

• These belong to me.

Estes me pertencem. (Os objetos estão próximos ao falante.)

• Those looked just like mine.

Aqueles parecem com o meu. ( Os objetos estão longe do falante)

Is this a dog?

Yes, it is.

Is that your father?

No, that isn't my fahter. That's

my boss.

Are these your friends?

Yes, they're my friends.

Are those rabbits?

Yes, they are.

*You would wish someone good night when you are going to bed or about to sleep. This can be as
early as eight in the evening. In fact, when a person is about to go to sleep he will wish his friend
good night because night is associated with time to sleep.
