Esse emprego dos pronomes reflexivos indica que o sujeito da frase realiza e
recebe a ação expressa pelo verbo. Veja alguns exemplos:


Did Mary hurt herself?
(Mary se machucou?)

They didn’t take pictures of themselves.
(Eles não tiraram fotos deles mesmos.)

We introduced ourselves to the others.
(Nós nos apresentamos aos outros.)

 Uso dos Pronomes Reflexivos
Função Enfática
É muito comum o uso dos Reflexive Pronouns para enfatizar quem realizou a
ação expressa pelo verbo. Nesse caso, o pronome pode ser colocado em
diferentes posições em frases afirmativas, geralmente ao final ou depois do
sujeito. Veja os exemplos:


She herself told me that. (Ela mesma me contou isso.)

Did he paint the house himself? (Ele mesmo pintou a casa?)

We build this ourselves. (Nós mesmos que construímos isto.)

Do you make the homework yourself? (Você mesmo que fez a tarefa de casa?)

A forma idiomática é formada pelo uso de by antes do pronome reflexivo.

Essa estrutura é usada para ressaltar que algo foi feito por alguém sem
auxílio de terceiros. Acompanhe:
