RESUMEN
Introducción: La salud mental de atletas puede predecir su desempeño deportivo y comportamental, lo que la
vuelve un importante objeto de estudio. Objetivo: Investigar la salud mental y factores asociados en atletas que par-
ticiparon en los Juegos Abiertos de Santa Catarina 2011, Brazil. Métodos: La muestra fue compuesta por 445 atletas
participantes de la competencia (211 hombres y 234 mujeres). Para la colecta de datos fue utilizado el Cuestionario
de Caracterización y la Escala de Humor de Brunel. Los datos fueron colectados individualmente en el local de la
competencia entre 30 y 50 minutos antes de que los atletas compitieran. Los datos fueron analizados por estadística
