We use the hours for various actions in the day: to make appointments,
organize our study schedules and arrive at classes on time. If you
always need to ask other people about the time, it is interesting that
you also know this very important step to optimize your English level.
But first, know some words that are used to measure time and that will
be used during your learning:

Hour – Hora
Minute – Minuto
Second – Segundo
To inform the time in English, use "it is" or "it's" and the corresponding
numbers (hour and minute). To learn how to speak the time, you need
to know the vocabulary of the numbers in English. To talk about hours
in the morning, we use the acronym a.m and to differentiate it from
hours in the afternoon or evening, we use p.m furthermore, when we
talk about sharp hours, that is, without the minutes, we must use the
o'clock termination .

There are two ways to speak the hours and minutes in English. The first
and easiest is to simply say the numbers for the hours and minutes.

We use the expressions a.m. and p.m. to indicate when the time in
English occurs before or after noon.
• Examples/Exemplos:
9:00 – It’s nine a.m. ou It’s nine o’clock in the morning. (São nove da
manhã.)
10:00 – It’s ten p.m. ou It’s ten o’clock in the evening (São dez da
noite.)
