1 You agree to be a good Man and true, and strictly to obey the
moral law.
Concordais em ser um Homem de bem e leal, e obedecer
estritamente a lei moral.
2 You are to be a peaceable Subject, and cheerfully to conform
to the laws of the country in which you reside.
Deveis ser um Cidadão pacífico, e agradavelmente vos
conformar às leis do país no qual residis.
3 You promise not to be concerned in plots or Conspiracies
against Government, but patiently to submit to the decisions of
the Supreme Legislature.
Prometeis não participar de conluios ou Conspirar contra o
Governo, mas pacientemente vos submeter às decisões da
Suprema Legislatura.
4 You agree to pay a proper respect to the Civil Magistrate, to
work diligently, live creditably, and act honourably by all Men.
Concordais em prestar o devido respeito ao Magistrado Civil,
trabalhar diligentemente, viver respeitavelmente, e agir
honradamente com todos os Homens.
5 You agree to hold in veneration the original Rulers and
Patrons of the Order of Free-Masonry, and their regular
Successors, supreme and subordinate, according to their
Stations; and to submit to the Awards and Resolutions of the
your Brethren in general Lodge convened, in every case
consistent with the Constitutions of the Order.
Concordais em manter venerados os Dirigentes e Patronos
originais da Ordem da Franco-Maçonaria, e seus sucessores
regulares, supremos e subordinados, de acordo com seus
Postos e submeter-vos às Decisões e Resoluções de vossos
Irmãos em Loja usualmente reunida, em todos os casos
consistente com as Constituições da ordem.
6 You agree to avoid private piques and quarrels and to guard
against intemperance and excess.

Concordais em evitar contendas e rixas e vos guardar contra a

intemperança e excessos.
7 You agree to be cautious in your carriage and behaviour,
courteous to your Brethren, and faithful to your Lodge.
Concordais em ser cauteloso em vossa conduta e
comportamento, cortês para com vossos Irmãos, e fiel à vossa
Loja.
8 You promise to respect genuine and true Brethren, and to
discountenance Impostors and all Dissenters from the original
Plan of Free-Masonry.
Prometeis respeitar os genuínos e verdadeiros Irmãos, e
desconsiderar os Impostores e todos os Dissidentes do Plano
original da Franco-Maçonaria.
9 You agree to promote the general good of Society, to cultivate
the Social Virtues, and to propagate the knowledge of the
Mystic Art as far as your influence and ability can extend.
Concordais em promover o bem geral da Sociedade, cultivar as
Virtudes Sociais e propagar o conhecimento da Arte Mística
tanto quanto vossa influência e habilidade possam alcançar.
10 You promise to pay homage to the Grand Master for the time
being, and to his Officers when duly installed, and strictly to
conform to every Edict of the Grand Lodge.
Prometeis prestar homenagem ao Grão Mestre durante o seu
exercício, e aos seus Oficiais quando devidamente instalados, e
estritamente vos conformar a todos os Éditos do Grande
Oriente.
11 You admit that is not in the power of any Man or Body of
Men to make any Alteration or Innovation in the Body of
Masonry without the consent first obtained of the Grand Lodge.
Admitis que não está no poder de qualquer Homem ou Corpo
de Homens fazer qualquer Alteração ou Inovação no Corpo da
Maçonaria sem obter primeiro o consentimento do Grande
Oriente.

12 You promise a regular attendance on the Communications1

and Committees of the Grand Lodge, upon receiving proper
notice thereof, and to pay attention to all the duties of Free-
Masonry upon proper and convenient occasions.
Prometeis comparecer regularmente às Reuniões e aos Comitês
do Grande Oriente, ao receber as devidas notificações da
mesma, e prestar atenção aos deveres da Franco-Maçonaria
nas ocasiões próprias e convenientes.
13 You admit that no new Lodge can be formed without
permission of the Grand Master or his Deputy, and that no
countenance ought to be given to any irregular Lodge, or to any
person initiated therein; and that no public processions of
Masons clothed with the Badges of the Order can take place
without the special License of the Grand Master or his Deputy.
Admitis que nenhuma Loja nova pode ser formada sem a
permissão do Grão Mestre ou seu Delegado, e que nenhuma
importância deve ser dada a qualquer Loja irregular, ou à
qualquer pessoa nela iniciada; e que nenhuma procissão
pública de Maçons trajados com as Insígnias da Ordem pode
ter lugar sem Licença especial do Grão Mestre ou seu
Delegado.
14 You admit that no person can regularly be made a Free-
Mason or admitted a Member of any Lodge without previous

NT: — “Communications” há décadas é mal traduzido para o português
como sinônimo de “Comunicados”. Ocorre que se trata de uma referência ao
“Communications of Grand Lodge” que é uma Reunião (Ritualística) da
Grande Loja, na qual todos os Mestres de Loja, 1º e 2º Vigilantes, Past
Masters e Grandes Oficiais possuem assento. Nela o Grão Mestre (ou o Pro
Grão Mestre ou o Delegado do Grão Mestre) é o condutor da Reunião.
Para membros de uma estrutura de caráter republicano, (Grande Oriente) pode
parecer estranho, porém para os membros de uma estrutura de característica
monárquica, (Grande Loja) isto é esperado.
Também no nível Provincial ou Distrital (aqui chamamos de Estadual e para o
Distrital não há correspondência) há uma Reunião semelhante, portanto, “...
attendance on the Communications and Committees” é “... comparecer às
Reuniões e Comitês”

notice and due inquiry into his character; and that no Brother
can be advanced to a higher Degree except in strict conformity
with the Laws of the Grand Lodge.
Admitis que nenhuma pessoa pode ser regularmente feita
Franco-Maçom ou admitido como Membro de qualquer Loja
sem prévia notificação e a devida investigação sobre seu
caráter; e que nenhum Irmão pode ser avançado a um Grau
maior exceto em estrita conformidade com as Leis do Grande
Oriente.
15 You promise that no Visitor shall be received into your
Lodge without due examination, and producing proper
Vouchers of his having been initiated in a regular Lodge.
Prometeis que nenhum Visitante será recebido em vossa Loja
sem o devido exame, e sem apresentar a devida Documentação
de ter sido iniciado em uma Loja regular.
At the conclusion the Installing Officer addresses the Master
Elect as follows: “Do you submit to and promise to support
these Charges and Regulations as the Masters have done in all
ages?” Upon his answering in the affirmative the Ceremony of
Installation proceeds.
Para concluir o discurso do Oficial Instalador para o Mestre
Eleito ele prossegue com: “Submetei-vos e prometeis sustentar
estas Obrigações e Regulamentos como os Mestres tem feito em
todas as eras?” Se sua resposta for afirmativa a Cerimônia de
Instalação prosseguirá.
