Por outro lado, o método intervalado pode ser uma opção para
aumentar a adesão a um programa de exercícios para pessoas com
cardiopatias, devido ao menor tempo de estímulo para realização
da prática regular de exercício físico (≥ 15 minutos acumulados).
Em recente metanálise foi demonstrado que o método intervalado
promoveu maiores adaptações no VO2pico do que o método contínuo
de moderada intensidade em pessoas com insuficiência cardíaca
e fração de ejeção reduzida, após um período de 3 a 24 meses
de reabilitação cardíaca. Como no método contínuo, constantes
considerações clínicas também são recomendadas antes que o sujeito
seja submetido a prática do método intervalado, tais como avaliação
inicial, contra indicações absolutas, recomendações para que não seja
adiada a sessão de treinamento, monitoramento durante a sessão, além
dos indicativos para interrupção da mesma.
