RESUMO: Discutimos os determinantes cognitivo e psicofísico da escolha em contextos arriscados e sem risco. A
psicofísica do valor induz aversão ao risco no domínio dos ganhos e atração pelo risco no domínio das perdas. A
psicofísica do acaso induz o peso exagerado de coisas seguras e de eventos improváveis, relativamente a eventos de
probabilidade moderada. Problemas de decisão podem ser descritos ou enquadrados de múltiplas formas que dão
origem a diferentes preferências, contrariamente ao critério de invariância da escolha racional. O processo de
contabilidade mental, em que as pessoas organizam os resultados das transações, explica parte das anomalias do
comportamento do consumidor. Em particular, a aceitabilidade de uma opção pode depender de um resultado negativo
ser avaliado como uma despesa ou como um prej uízo incompensado. A relação entre valores de decisão e valores de
experiência é discutida.
