One day, Antonio went with his grandfather to The Count's estate.

One day, Antonio went with his grandfather to The Count's estate.
Um dia, Antonio foi com seu avô à propriedade do Conde.

"estate" significa "propriedade" no sentido de "terras" ou mesmo se

refererindo aos bens de uma pessoa. Observe os exemplos:

A 3"000-acre estate.
Uma propriedade de 3.000 acres.

His estate is worth millions of dollars.

Seus bens/propriedades valem milhões de dólares.

The boy could not cook or wait on the grand table,

O garoto não podia/conseguia cozinhar ou atender à grande mesa,

Aqui vemos o uso do phrasal verb "wait on", que significa "servir comidas
ou bebidas (como garçom ou garçonete)". Exemplos:

I waited on tables for years to pay my college tuition.

Eu trabalhei como garçom por anos para pagar a mensalidade da
faculdade.

He is busy waiting on customers at the moment.

Ele está ocupado atendendo clientes no momento.

but he could help clean up.

mas ele podia ajudar a limpar.

Conforme os serviçais preparavam a grande mesa,

Um dos sentidos da palavra "set" é "preparar algo para o uso". Exemplos:

She set the camera on automatic.

Ela colocou a câmera no automático.

Set the alarm for 7 o'clock.

Ajuste o alarme para 7 horas.

"crash" significa "acidente" ou "estrondo". Observe os exemplos:

A car crash.
Um acidente de carro.

The tree fell with a great crash.

A árvore caiu e faz um grande estrondo.

fragments.
Um homem, pálido e amedrontado, entrou rapidamente na cozinha
segurando fragmentos de pedras.

"bare" significa "descoberto" ou "vazio". Observe os exemplos:

A equipe estremeceu.

"tremble" significa "tremer" (por conta de nervosismo, medo, etc.).

Exemplos:

My legs were trembling with fear.

Minhas pernas estavam tremendo de medo.

Her voice trembled with excitement.

A voz dela tremeu de animação/entusiasmo.

Was the dinner going to be a failure?

Seria o jantar um fracasso?

Esta frase é a versão interrogativa da frase "The dinner was going to be..."
(O jantar iria ser/seria...).

Da mesma forma, esta frase é a versão interrogativa de "They would

be…" (Eles seriam…).
