 1. Introdução
O presente documento apresenta os procedimentos para a atualização dos Firmwares
dos terminais SAILOR FLEETBROADBAND.

2. Os modelos que devem ser atualizados são:

a. SAILOR 150,
b. SAILOR 250,
c. SAILOR 500,
d. EXPLORER 325 e
e. EXPLORER 727.

3. Criticidade e impactos deste upgrade

Este upgrade é MANDATÓRIO e deve ser realizado o quanto antes para evitar ou
obter as funcionalidades abaixo:
a. Para evitar eventuais falhas de operação do “IP handset” na recepção de
ligação.
b. Outras funcionalidades intrínsecas à este upgrade são:
• Permite funcionalidade de FAX e 3.1KHz Audio para o Sailor 150;
• Restauração do PDP contexto ao reciclar a energia;
• Suporte para oThraneLINK

4. Versões de atualização dos Firmwares:

a. FB500_250_150 Exp325_727 ver_1.18 e
b. IP_Handset_ver_1.15

5. Procedimentos técnicos para estas atualizações:

Os procedimentos técnicos detalhado para estas atualizações estão descritos nos
seguintes documentos abaixo listados, que estão anexados ao final deste documento:

• Para a atualização do Firmware do FBB:

Tech Note FBB500-250-150 EXP325-727 - SW release ver 118_Rev_A

• Para a atualização do IP Handset:

Tech Note Thrane IP Handset - SW release ver 1_15_Rev_A

6. Recomendações para a execução destas atualizações:

a. Esta atualização deve ser realizada por técnicos credenciados para operarem
com estes terminais, os quais devem seguir à risca os procedimentos listados no
item 5 acima.

Please be informed that a new software version 1.18 for the following Cobham SATCOM
products has been released:

 SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband TT-3740A

 SAILOR 250 FleetBroadband TT-3742A
 SAILOR 150 FleetBroadband TT-3744A
 EXPLORER 727 TT- 3722A
 EXPLORER 325 TT-3733A

Priority:

 MEDIUM: It is recommended to apply this change / initiative to all units in stock.

For units sold it is recommended to apply this change / initiative next time the
system(s) is inspected.

Changes from software version 1.17 to version 1.18:

 New features and improvements related to SAILOR 500/250/150 FleetBroadband

and EXPLORER 727/325 :
 SAILOR 500: Support for Dual Antenna Solution (DACU)
 Multi-voice update with usage of additional MSISDN numbers
 General improvements

Note! – Dual Antenna Solution will only work on antenna type 3052C Rev.:B.03 and up,
which is production from S/N 80519208 and newer/higher.

Download file FB500_250_150 Exp325_727 ver_118.zip located at Cobham SATCOM
partner extranet or at the Cobham SATCOM eSupport Download Centre and save / extract it
to your hard drive.

For End Users (from the SAILOR FleetBroadband web MMI):

Download the file from the Cobham SATCOM FleetBroadband update server via the SAILOR
web server (shown below). Please note that if this is over air transmission, it will add cost to
your airtime bill. File size is approximately 7.0 MB!!

From web interface:

1. Make sure the terminal is switched on and connect the Ethernet cable to your PC.
2. Open your web-browser and open the web interface of the terminal at address
http://192.168.0.1/

3. Select SETTINGS.

4. Select Upload.

5. Select Check for updates and when found, press download and store on the hard disk
of the PC. The file is approx 7.0 MB. Airtime fee applies!

6. When the software is downloaded to the hard disk of the PC, follow the description below
for updating the SAILOR 500/250/150 or the EXPLORER 727/325.

Procedure for INSTALLING version 1.18 on SAILOR 500/250/150 FleetBroadband and
EXPLORER 727/325.

1. Make sure the terminal is switched on and connect the Ethernet cable to your PC
2. Open your web-browser and open the web interface of the terminal at address
http://192.168.0.1/
3. Select SETTINGS.

4. Select Upload.

5. Click Browse… and locate and select the software file stored and extracted to
bganx_bdu_1_18-0019.dl, with Windows Explorer.
Click Upload and verify that the upload is in progress.

6. When the upload is done, the terminal will reboot. Select the address http://192.168.0.1/
again and verify that the software version is listed as: 1.18, build 0019 in the
DASHBOARD under PROPERTIES.

 Please note that the terminal might start an antenna software upgrade after the reboot.
Make sure that the upgrade has ended before disconnecting the antenna or switching the
system off. (All LEDs on the terminal must be green and no warning in the event
list).

Action:

Note: If present SW version in the Thrane IP Handset or Thrane Wireless IP Handset is SW

ver. 1.10 or earlier, you will have to upgrade to SW ver. 1.11 before upgrading to this latest
SW version, SW ver. 1.15. If you already have SW ver. 1.11 or SW ver. 1.12 or SW ver. 1.13
or SW ver. 1.14 you can upgrade directly to SW ver. 1.15.

The following will describe the procedure for installing IP Handset software ver. 1.15 using a
SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband, SAILOR 250 FleetBroadband, SAILOR 150 FleetBroadband,
Explorer 727 and EXPLORER 325, or a switch with PPPOE (e.g. D-Link DES-1008P).

1. Make sure the terminal is switched on and connected to your PC /Laptop with an
Ethernet cable. Or connect the Thrane IP Handset and PC /Laptop to a switch with
PPPOE (in that case the network settings has to be manually inserted).

2. If using a FleetBroadband Terminal: Open your web-browser, on the PC /Laptop, and

open the Web Interface of the IP Handset. The IP address can be found in the
Thrane IP Handset menu Status  Network Information.
If using a switch: Use the static IP address just inserted in the Thrane IP Handset.

3. Select UPLOAD FIRMWARE.

 4. Select Browse… then locate and select the software file
TT3672b_1_15_1584.bin stored and extracted on your hard drive of your PC
/Laptop.

5. Choose Upload Firmware and verify that the upload is in progress as shown below
(status bar enabled in browser).

6. When the software has been uploaded to the Thrane IP Handset, the installation of
the software will take place.

7. The Thrane IP Handset display will also show the progress of the installation.

 8. When the installation is done, the Thrane IP Handset will restart.

9. After the restart of the Thrane IP Handset, the new software version will be indicated
as 1.15, build 1584.
