Abstract
This study delves into an exploration of Work-Related Quality of Life (WRQoL) within
the context of higher education, specifically focusing on Administrative Technicians at
the Institute of Biological Sciences of a Federal University in the Northern Region of
Brazil. The central objective was to assess the degree of satisfaction among these
professionals concerning WRQoL, employing the QWLQ-bref questionnaire as the
research tool. The investigation entailed the distribution of a questionnaire to 22
administrative assistants, encompassing four distinct domains: physical,
psychological, personal, and professional. The findings unveiled an overall
satisfactory level of WRQoL, with notable emphasis on the psychological and
personal domains. This suggests contentment with professional accomplishments
and the rapport shared among peers and superiors. Nonetheless, the physical
domain exhibited comparatively lower satisfaction, particularly concerning the
influence of sleep-related issues on job performance. This circumstance might be
attributed to extraneous factors, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly
impacted both physical health and socio-economic well-being. To enhance
understanding, it is recommended that forthcoming research encompass diverse
employee cohorts. Furthermore, the formulation of improvement plans based on
collective insights is advised. Such actions aim to devise tailored strategies that
augment WRQoL, fostering a more collaborative and healthful work environment.
