Long Vacation Keep Americans at Their Jobs

In an effort to retain employees in a country where workers usually do not stay at one job for life and complain about short
lengths of vacation, some American firms are now offering their staff generous paid breaks. For example, Apple Computers is
making it mandatory for staff who have been with the company for five years to take one month’s paid leave. Similarly,
McDonald’s is giving its employees eight weeks of paid leave after ten years of service. By taking lengthy paid leaves, workers
have time to self-develop, to fulfill their dreams, and to return to work with renewed enthusiasm.
