• Lewis Carroll foi um poeta e escritor inglês que viveu no século XIX, na
Inglaterra. Além de ser um dos pioneiros na poesia de vanguarda, também é o
autor do clássico Alice no País das Maravilhas. Seu nome verdadeiro era Charles
Lutwidge Dodgson.
• Em 1865, Lewis Carroll publicou seu primeiro livro, Alice no País das Maravilhas. Antes
disso, ele já publicava textos em revistas literárias com o pseudônimo. Foi só depois de
algumas revisões a alterações que o livro finalmente chegou na versão que conhecemos.
• Cinco anos depois, foi publicado “Através do Espelho e o que Alice Encontrou Lá”,
sequência do primeiro livro. Assim como o original, a obra também fez muito sucesso.
• Ainda que fosse voltada para crianças, os textos de Lewis traziam metáforas e
questionamentos sobre a sociedade da época. Ou seja, por meio dos elementos de
fantasia, o autor conseguiu fazer um clássico para crianças e adultos.

• Alice is a curious girl who follows a White Rabbit with a vest and
watches, diving without thinking about her lair. The girl is designed
for a new world, full of animals and strange objects. She turns there, at
the end of her adventures ends up being part of a senseless trial and
being sentenced to death by the Queen of Hearts, a tyrant who had the
severed head of all who bothered her. Alice wakes up and discovers
that the whole trip was a dream.
• That's when Alice will be judged for the "attack" on the Queen of
Hearts where the Queen constantly speaks to her soldiers "Cut off your
head!" The scene, introduces the end of the plot. The conflict is Alice
knowing herself, her various hidden Suss and begins to mature.
