Cada texto representa uma possvel expresso vocal, mas apenas indivduos com alguma fluncia podero deduzir como um texto escrito vai soar em voz alta. Portanto, falar uma lngua o primeiro passo necessrio para adquirir a habilidade de ler e entender o sentido. As lies de leitura neste livro proporcionam o segundo passo. As lies foram criadas para ajud-lo a associar sons e mudanas de sons com as letras do alfabeto em ingls. Ingls americano I contm 21 lies de leitura: as quais esto todas juntas no fim do curso.
