Bem, já vi os dois filmes de Sonic.

O primeiro achei absolutamente atroz, dos piores filmes que já vi e das

maiores bastardizações de um franchise que já vi. É que não tem praticamente nada a ver com Sonic.
Podiam ter substituído o Sonic por outra mascote popular qualquer e o filme não precisava de mudar
quase nada, cause it already bears little to no resemblance to Sonic. A personagem do Sonic, fora o seu
super poder, é literalmente o oposto do Sonic dos jogos. Até certo ponto já esperava isso, pois os trailers
já tinham deixado claro que o tinham transformado num puto hiperactivo, tagarela, espalhafatoso e
insuportável, quando ele nos jogos é um tipo calmo, descontraído e equilibrado que sabe relaxar e estar
na dele. It's insane how even a cartoon for 5 year olds like Sonic X can get this right (see pic) but this
movie can't:

Mas não estava preparado para outra nova "faceta" que lhe deram que é talvez ainda pior. In the
movies, Sonic's whole shtick is that he's... lonely. And cause he's lonely, he's all insecure and has no
confidence in himself... que é o *exacto oposto* da sua caracterização nos jogos. In the games, Sonic
not only isn't lonely, but he clearly *enjoys* being alone, tanto que em várias ocasiões está toda a
gente reunida e ele desata a correr e baza sem dizer nada a ninguém to enjoy roaming the world on
his own.
If anything, Sonic makes *others* feel lonely since he never sticks arounds for very long cause he
just loves to run freely on his own that much. The dude is a Goku clone (with a few differences and
twists of his own), c'mon, this isn't that hard. And he's confident and self-assured, e não precisa de
ter um arco de personagem ridículo onde o Cyclops de X-Men o adopta e dá-lhe uma pep talk
genérica de Hollywood para ele se sentir melhor. :uboa:
They absolutely *don't get* Sonic's character. Again, like Goku, Sonic is not a character with an arc
com demónios interiores como loneliness ou whatever que ele precisa de ultrapassar. The whole
point is that he's free from that kind of stuff, he's free from the things that bother and weigh down
most people, *he's freedom personified*, and that's why he has such a profound impact on others.
His character isn't meant to change cause the whole point is that he catalyses change in all the other
characters because of how remarkable his existence is. Tails grows from timid to brave because of
Sonic's influence. Knux opens himself up to others more because of Sonic. Amy falls in love with him
because he's so free and confident (she would never fall for the obnoxious lonely loser that is Movie
Sonic). Shadow looks down on him at first but then grows to respect him and starts to question his
own existence. All the characters grow because of Sonic's influence and the way he is. Not only does
he not need a stupid "I'm so lonely and insecure, I need friends :cry:" arc, it's absolutely antithetical
to his character. Movie Sonic is an attention-seeking whore. Game Sonic doesn’t *want* attention,
he wants to be free and left alone to do his thing for the most part. He never sticks around when he
saves the day cause he doesn’t want to deal with the adulation and people fawning over him. But
Movie Sonic is all “WAAH I WANNA BE A HERO SO EVERYONE CAN ADMIRE ME, WHY DON’T YOU LET
ME, CYCLOPS?! WAAH [insert random stupid out-of-place pop culture reference to Vin Diesel or
Oprah]”

And don't even get me started on the way the movies completely botch the lore and themes of the
games. So many moronic scenes, como o Sonic deixar um peixe morrer sufocado for comic relief
*when his whole fucking objective in the games is to rescue animals*:

And on that note, *claro* que eles tinham de dar continuidade e imenso destaque ao nonsense
inventado pelos cartoons americanos de que o Sonic é viciado em hot dogs. The guy who literally
spends his days protecting and saving pigs and other animals (see picture) then turns around and
 eats their corpses on a regular basis. Cause who cares about thematic consistency when you can use
a popular mascot to promote unhealthy American fast food to little kids? :yunaugh:

Anyway, o segundo filme também tem estes problemas fundamentais, so I still wouldn't call it good,
mas foi definitivamente bem mais enjoyable graças ao Tails e Knuckles (e o próprio Eggman está
melhor pois apesar de continuar a ser um doido varrido com mil parafusos a menos e não um
cientista racional mas amoral como nos jogos, ao menos em aspecto já parece um pouco mais o
Eggman e não tanto o Jim Carrey simplesmente a fazer de Jim Carrey). Like, Tails literally also had
that arc of being lonely and low in confidence and finally making a friend and finding his courage, but
that's okay cause *gasp* it fits his character! Knuckles was mostly enjoyable too, being actually
badass and menacing, and even calling out the fact that the attempts at humor in this movie (for the
most part, there were a few decent gags) were fucking weak:

Anyway, enough ranting. Que venha o Shadow and hopefully they'll do him more justice like with
Tails and Knuckles and unlike Sonic. :shanlol:

1. Yup, vale sempre lembrar que o primeiro filme, apesar de ter mudado o aspeto do Sonic, não terá mudado o
script do filme. This is a story meant for that ugly thing lol. Eu tenho prezado a atitude de terem reagido positivamente ao
"feedback" dos fãs, mas custa-me ver agora toda a gente a prezar os filmes por respeitarem o material de origem, com o que já
não estou nada de acordo. É muito claramente Hollywood a pegar numa personagem da qual não sabem nada e a injetar a história
genérica de mascote extraterrestre que tinham em mente. No segundo filme, talvez por verem o impacto de agradar os fãs, nota-se
que há mais um effort para respeitar o material de origem (ou pelo menos para incluir mais lore e referências), mas a personagem
do Sonic continua mal adaptada pelas ideias que vieram logo desde o primeiro filme. (edited)

E é estranho ver como toda a gente parece estar a ignorar isto, sobretudo quando o Knuckles foi bué elogiado por estar
mais fiel ao Knuckles badass do qual a malta se lembra, depois de tanto tempo a ser bastardizado noutras aparições.
Como é que esses mesmos fãs de Sonic que valorizam o que fizeram de positivo com o Knuckles não reparam no que
fizeram de negativo ao Sonic? One not ugly face does not a well adapted character make.
