Os idiomas são formados por muitas palavras de origens diferentes, e grande parte delas são apenas derivações ou
combinações de palavras já existentes. Algumas dessas derivações são feitas por prefixos e sufixos em inglês. Eles
são responsáveis por adicionar ou alterar o significado de uma palavra.
Aprender inglês envolve não só o conhecimento das estruturas gramaticais, mas também a extensão do seu
vocabulário. E uma estratégia eficiente para aumentá-lo é aprender a reconhecer certos padrões de prefixos e
sufixos para descobrir o significado a função dessas palavras em um contexto geral.
O prefixo é a parte que vem antes da palavra em si. No inglês existem diversos deles, alguns com um significado
particular e outros com um significado compartilhado. Vamos ver o que cada um deles faz com as palavras:

Idiomatic Expressions
Ao aprendermos um novo idioma, é natural tentarmos fazer uma equivalência das frases do idioma estrangeiro com
a nossa língua materna. Muitas vezes isso nos leva a tentar traduzir individualmente todas as palavras de uma frase,
o que nem sempre funciona. Quando o assunto são as idiomatic expressions (expressões idiomáticas), essa tradução
palavra a palavra muito provavelmente não irá funcionar, pois a tradução de uma expressão na maioria das vezes
não é literal. Consulte abaixo uma lista de exemplos com as principais 30 expressões idiomáticas em inglês com
