RESUMO
The issue of stress in nursing has been widely studied in different contexts of care, but it
still deserves to be highlighted because it considers the peculiarities present in the
professional activity, the regional differences that impact the care model adopted and the
management resources in the work strategy. The changes that have taken place in the
world of health and nursing work in recent centuries, along with major technological
advances and benefits for the population, have resulted in a practice environment
permeated by changes and precursor situations of emotional stress with implications for
patient safety. and professional health. justification: The impossibility of excluding stress
in the daily life of nursing professionals highlights the importance of seeking coping
strategies in an attempt to contain the emotional damage caused to workers. Methodology:
This is a bibliographic, descriptive and exploratory review with qualitative data analysis.
The research was carried out in the following databases: Virtual Health Library (BVS), and
Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). In the period from March 29, 2022 to May
23, 2022, with 10 articles selected through the key expression/descriptors: Nursing, Stress,
coping and burnout. Conclusion: Due to the numerous strains on the health of the nursing
worker, caused by exposure to workloads, it is essential to identify the loads that workers
are exposed to, seeking to prevent and devise strategies aimed at healthy work.
