RESUMO
ABSTRACT
This work focuses about the history of mathematics and consequently the
formation of teachers who teach mathematics in the early years of elementary
school, with the goal of making a brief dialogue about the contributions of the
History of Mathematics in the early years of elementary school. The National
Curriculum (PCNS, 1997) clearly depict the four paths that should be adopted
by the mathematics teacher of the early years of elementary school among
them the use of the History of Mathematics. Learning and appropriation of
mathematical concepts, from elements and historical information produced by
civilizations throughout human history emerge as an alternative to the teacher
