As variadas pesquisas
No
caracterizamos a chamada experiência religiosa e as partes do cérebro. No capítulo 2,
ABSTRACT
This work intends to discuss in an ample way the reasons for the existence of the new
field called neurotheology, more specifically treating the effects in images presented
by the human brain which experiences the sensations provoked by certain behaviors
designates as religious. The various researches which look into the cerebral regions
touched by the religious experience are listed, described and analised from the point
of view of their contribution to the development of this vast field of neurotheology.
Themes like neuropsychology, health and concepts about the essence of the human
being and of his religious experience are mixed among the chapters of this work which
has a threefold objective: to recognize the new field of neurotheology and the
importance of neuroscientific studies for the understanding of the behavior of the
human brain in the religious experiences; to locate certain cerebral regions related to
the functions of the behavior and of the religious experience; and to list some recente
experiences in the field of neurotheology. In chapter 1, Neurotheology, one made a
presentation of the new field of knowledge, characterize the so-called religious
experiences and the parto f the brain. In chapter 2, Neuropsychology and Religion,
some experiments are analysed more specifically. In chapter 3, Health and Religion,
articles which prove the benefits of religious experiences to health are seen.
