Abstract
Health professionals are constantly surrounded by stressful factors. Quality of life is related not only to health
conditions, but also to subjective aspects. Due to the characteristics of certain professions, some stand out for
being more stressful. Physiotherapy is a profession with a wide area of expertise, professionals in this area can
exercise care activities, dealing directly with a diverse audience, and can be considered a stressful field of
action. This study aims to evaluate the quality of life of physical therapists who work in an association dedicated
to neurological care in a city in the northwest region of Paraná. In this cross-sectional study, 13 physiotherapists
who work in a Rehabilitation association voluntarily participated in the questionnaire, which contained
variables such as gender, age, training time, weekly hours worked as a physiotherapist, if they have one more
workplace, quantity of patients seen per day and the Short Form Health questionnaire (SF-36). The biggest
highlight was for young professionals up to 30 years old, females and high working hours. Analyzing the SF-
36 variables, the professionals evaluated showed good results in terms of quality of life, referring to parameters
such as impact on pain, stress and exhaustion. Despite this, it is important to emphasize preventive measures
to increase personal fulfillment and minimize stress. Due to the scarcity of articles on the subject, we highlight
the need for more studies on this subject.
