This work is an account of the current state of the teaching-learning process of the
discipline of Organic Chemistry, particularly the theme related to saturated
hydrocarbons (alkanes), which has been approached in a context completely distant
from what the students are inserted in, which causes a big gap between what is
taught and what is expected as a result of the process. The work ends a descriptive
research, with a quali-quanti approach and was carried out at the
LiceuComandanteJoaquim-Kapango do Huambo, through the application of a
questionnaire survey to teachers and students of the 12th Class, of the Physical and
Biological Sciences Course, period post-work, having a representative sample of a
class composed of 65 students. Theoretical and empirical methods were used. It is
hoped that the present work can contribute to the improvement of the teaching -
learning process of the discipline of Chemistry since it encompasses a didactic
proposal that is feasible to take a significant step in the alignment of said process.
