Para falar da localização desses lugares, usamos os seguintes advérbios de lugares:

Here = aqui. On the left = à esquerda

Next to / beside = ao lado On the right = à direita
In front of = em frente. Over there = lá.
Behind = atrás. Near = perto.
On the corner = na esquina. Far = longe

Exemplos:
The Cathedral is in front of the Post office. (A Catedral está em frente aos Correios)
The supermarket is next to the drugstore. (O supermercado está ao lado da farmácia)
The airport is far. (O aeroporto é longe)

Em se tratando de localização, é muito comum as pessoas perguntarem como se chega a

determinados lugares.
Exemplos:
How can I go to the train station? (Como eu chego na estação de trem?).
Where is the Zoo? (Onde é o Zoológico?)

As formas mais comuns de dar informações sobre localizações são:

Turn left / right = Vire à esquerda / direita.

Go straight ahead = Siga reto.
It’s this way = É por aqui.
Go to the opposite direction = Vá na direção contrária.
Go up / down the street = Suba / desça a rua.
It’s two blocks from here = Fica a duas quadras daqui).
It’s across the street = É do outro lado da rua.
At the (traffic) lights = No semáforo.
