EMENTA DA DISCIPLINA
A noção de teoria. Formação histórica do sistema de Estados nacionais. A construção do
campo das Relações Internacionais. A tradição realista. O realismo estrutural. A tradição
liberal. O institucionalismo neoliberal. A sociedade internacional. Debates metodológicos.
OBJETIVOS
Geral
• Reconhecer conceitos e ferramentas analíticas relevantes das Relações
Internacionais como um campo disciplinar voltado para a compreensão da política
global contemporânea.
Específicos
• Identificar conceitos e perguntas que estruturam as contribuições de distintas
abordagens teóricas das Relações Internacionais e o contexto histórico do qual
emergem.
• Refletir sobre a historicidade do sistema de Estados nacionais e a construção das
Relações Internacionais como um campo de estudos.
• Reconhecer as contribuições teóricas associadas às tradições de pensamento realista,
liberal e à noção de sociedade internacional.
CONTEÚDO PROGRAMÁTICO
1. Introdução e apresentação da disciplina.
2. O sistema de Estados nacionais e a emergência do campo das Relações Internacionais.
3. A tradição realista no estudo das relações internacionais.
4. O realismo estrutural.
5. A tradição liberal no estudo das relações internacionais.
6. O institucionalismo neoliberal.
7. O enfoque da sociedade internacional.
8. Debates metodológicos.
METODOLOGIA DE ENSINO
O curso será ministrado mediante aulas expositivas. Haverá incentivo à discussão junto aos
alunos em torno das leituras obrigatórias contempladas para cada sessão, que incluem
textos introdutórios de referência sobre as principais abordagens teóricas do campo das
Relações Internacionais, assim como extratos de obras originais que se tornaram influentes
nos debates na disciplina. Leituras complementares são também sugeridas para aprofundar
na reflexão sobre os vários caminhos e implicações que produz o esforço de construção
sistemática de marcos teóricos e analíticos sobre as relações internacionais
contemporâneas.
A avaliação do desempenho dos alunos será feita mediante prova escrita a ser respondida
em casa. As perguntas e instruções específicas serão apresentadas na última sessão.
