❖ DO é o auxiliar do presente usado apenas com os pronomes: I (EU);
YOU (VOCÊ/VOCÊS); THEY (ELES/ELAS); WE (NÓS).

❖ DOES é o auxiliar do presente usado apenas com os pronomes HE (ELE); SHE (ELA); IT (ELE
OU ELA- usado para se referir a tudo que não é humano).

• DOES she WATCH series on Netflix every night? (Ela assiste séries na Netflix todas as noites?)
- Yes, she DOES. / No, she DOESN’T.
• DOES he STUDY for the tests every single day? (Ele estuda para os testes todo santo dia?)

• DOES it LIVE in the woods? (Ele/Ela vive na floresta?)

Assim como o DO, o DOES não aparecem nas frases afirmativas, apenas nas perguntas e nas
negações. Dessa forma, para diferenciarmos o DO do DOES nas afirmações teremos que mudar o
verbo principal (o primeiro) – assim temos 4 regras básicas para o DOES.
1. ES – Acrescentamos o ES nos verbos terminados em O,SH,CH,X,S (O SHampoo Cheroso da
Xuxa Sumiu) EX.: GO > GOES / WASH > WASHES / WATCH > WATCHES / FIX > FIXES / KISS >
KISSES
- She WATCHES tv every day. - She DOESN’T WATCH tv every day.
2. IES – Os verbos terminados em Y que precede de uma consoante, você deve retirar o Y e
acrescentar o IES. EX.: STUDY > STUDIES
- He STUDIES in the morning. - He DOESN’T STUDY in the morning.
DOES – AUXILIAR DO PRESENTE
(SIMPLE PRESENT – HE/SHE/IT)
3. HAS - O verbo HAVE (TER) nas afirmações muda e passa a ser HAS. E nas perguntas e negações
continua sendo HAVE.
- DOES Mary HAVE a big house?
- Mary HAS a big house
- Mary DOESN’T HAVE a big house.
4. S – Os demais verbos que não se enquadram em nenhuma das regras acima, acrescentamos
apenas o S no final do verbo, e somente nas afirmações. EX.: WORK > WORKS / NEED >
NEEDS / BUY > BUYS / LIVE > LIVES.
- She WORKS at the bank. - It NEEDS to DRINK water.
- He BUYS cars and then SELL them. - She LIVES in London.

❖ DID é o auxiliar do passado e usamos ele com todos os pronomes (I; YOU; HE; SHE; IT; THEY; WE).

- Yes, I DID. / No, I DIDN’T.
• DID she STAY home last weekend? (Você ficou em casa fim de semana passado?)

Observem que o auxiliar DID não aparece na afirmativa, temos que mudar o verbo, mas apenas
nas afirmações. O passado é dividido entre VERBOS REGULARES e VERBOS IRREGULARES.

- Acrescentamos apenas o ED no final do verbo.

VERBOS IRREGULARES (IRREGULAR VERBS)
Como já diz o nome, esses verbos são irregulares, então não seguem um padrão, eles mudam
totalmente sua forma, nas afirmações. A regra continua aqui também, não mudamos os verbos
nas perguntas e negações, APENAS nas afirmações.

WOULD – AUXILIAR CONDICIONAL (RIA)
(TODOS OS PRONOMES)
• WOULD é o auxiliar do condicional, ou seja, os verbos terminarão com RIA quando traduzimos
para o português, exemplo, COMERIA, IRIA, COMPRARIA. O auxiliar vai aparecer tanto nas
afirmações quanto nas perguntas e negações. Nunca precisaremos mudar o verbo.

❖ WILL é o auxiliar do futuro, ele aparece tanto na afirmação, perguntas e negação também,
assim como o WOULD. Eles trabalham de forma semelhante, porém, o tempo verbal dos dois são
bem diferentes.

❖ CAN é um auxiliar e verbo ao mesmo tempo, você usa ele para pedir permissão para fazer algo, ou para
dizer que você consegue fazer alguma coisa, que você é capaz de fazer alguma atividade. Ele aparece
em todas as frases :perguntas, afirmações e negações.
