EMENTA
Nas últimas quatro décadas se construiu na Antropologia um campo temático denominado “antropologia
das emoções”; a configuração desse campo foi, em parte possibilitada pela introdução da antropologia na
discussão sobre o estatuto das emoções na vida social, mas também pela recuperação do conceito de
experiência para entender o cotidiano das populações. Assim, se começa a pensar a perspectiva Ocidental
sobre as emoções comparativamente às perspectivas de diversas culturas tradicionais.
Aproximadamente nesse mesmo momento, se produz na Sociologia e nos Estudos Culturais, um crescente
interesse nos estudos dos afetos, que veio a receber o nome de “virada afetiva” e que focava nas relações
entre afetos, subjetividade e corporalidade. Os estudos dos afetos dialogam fortemente com a produção
atual da filosofia tanto em uma perspectiva fenomenológica quanto pragmática.
Atualmente, os dois núcleos temáticos abordados no curso, têm contribuído para o que poderíamos
considerar estudos sobre o trauma. Assim, na terceira parte do curso abordaremos estudos e etnografias
que contribuem para definir o conceito de trauma como tema das ciências humanas.
Considero que está em jogo, tanto nos estudos das emoções, dos estudos dos afetos e do trauma, uma
discussão sobre a subjetividade e corporalidade associada aos diferentes modos de socialidade; em outras
palavras poderíamos pensar que continuamos lidando com os modos de construção da pessoa, que põem
em discussão as oposições entre natureza e cultura e entre individuo e sociedade.
