Nos primeiros minutos é apresentado a história da trisavó Rivera que foi abandonada pelo
marido por conta de seu sonho de ser cantor. Depois desse fato, a família Rivera proíbe a
música para todas as gerações, porém tudo muda com o amadurecimento de Miguel que
sempre demostrou, de forma oculta, sua paixão pela música e desperta o sonho de ser cantor.
Quando seus familiares descobrem seu sonho, eles ficam extremamente desapontados com
ele, mas Miguel está determinado a seguir esse sonho e decide participar do concurso musical
de Dia de Los Muertos. Para que isso aconteça, Miguel precisa de um instrumento, na hora do
desespero decide roubar o violão de seu ídolo Ernesto de La Cruz e quando toca a primeira
nota do violão é transportado para o Mundo dos Mortos, após chegar lá descobre que tem até
o amanhecer daquele dia para voltar para casa ou ficara eternamente preso naquele mundo.
Nesse mundo, ele vive várias aventuras e acaba conhecendo Hector, uma caveira vigarista que
tem o desejo de visitar o Mundo dos Vivos para rever sua filha. Hector aceita ajudar Miguel
na sua missão de retornar para casa, nesse tempo eles descobrem que Ernesto pode ser o
trisavô de Miguel e eles vão pedir ajuda para ele, porém Ernesto se revela o vilão da história.

In the first few minutes is presented the story of the great-great-grandmother Rivera who was
abandoned by her husband because of her dream of being a singer. After this fact, the Rivera
family forbids music for all generations, but everything changes with the maturation of
Miguel who has always demonstrated, in a hidden way, his passion for music and awakens the
dream of being a singer. When his family members discover his dream, they are extremely
disappointed in him, but Miguel is determined to follow this dream and decides to participate
in the musical contest of Dia de Los Muertos. For this to happen, Miguel needs an instrument,
in the hour of desperation decides to steal the guitar of his idol Ernesto de La Cruz and when
he plays the first note of the guitar is transported to the World of the Dead, after arriving there
he discovers that he has until dawn that day to return home or he will be eternally trapped in
that world. In this world, he lives several adventures and ends up meeting Hector, a skull con
man who has the desire to visit the World of the Living to see his daughter. Hector agrees to
help Miguel in his mission to return home, at which time they discover that Ernesto may be
Miguel's great-great-grandfather and they go to ask him for help but Ernesto reveals himself
to be the villain of the story.

O filme lançado tem como ideia principal a exaltação do folclore mexicano fazendo uma
homenagem ao país latino. O filme é extremamente colorido, alegre e cheio de vida com
flores, velas, fitas, luzes e músicas animadas de fundo, o que pode vir a ser uma grande
contradição pelo filme ter o tem de dia dos mortos. Essa postura elogiosa em relação à
estética latina pode ser comprovada pelos figurinos detalhados, pela farta culinária, pelo
ambiente rico e pela trilha sonora presente. A longa metragem fala de sentimentos universais:
a doença de Alzheimer, a morte, o medo de partir, a lembrança em quem fica. O filme nos
ajuda a desmistificar a morte e a pensar com leveza sobre o que pode (ou não) acontecer
depois do nosso incontornável final terreno. Outros temas muito importantes abordados pelo
filme são a solidariedade e o perdão. Lupita, a bisavó de Miguel, também representa com
verdade e doçura o processo de envelhecimento e a perda da memória. Com um olhar que
parte do realismo mágico, o filme nos estimula a observar a memória da nossa própria família
e a cultuar os nossos ancestrais.

The film that was released has as its main idea the exaltation of Mexican folklore, paying
homage to the Latin country. The film is extremely colorful, cheerful and full of life with
flowers, candles, ribbons, lights and lively music in the background, which can be a big
contradiction because the film has the theme of day of the dead. This flattering attitude
towards Latin aesthetics can be seen in the detailed costumes, the rich cuisine, the rich
environment and the present soundtrack. The feature film speaks of universal feelings:
Alzheimer's disease, death, the fear of leaving, the memory of those who remain. The film
helps us to demystify death and to think lightly about what may (or may not) happen after our
inevitable earthly end. Other very important themes addressed by the film are solidarity and
forgiveness. Lupita, Miguel's great-grandmother, also truthfully and sweetly represents the
aging process and memory loss. With a look that starts from magical realism, the film
encourages us to observe the memory of our own family and to worship our ancestors.

Miguel sonha em se tornar um grande músico, assim como seu ídolo, Ernesto de la Cruz. Isso
apesar da música ter sido banida há gerações em sua família. Desesperado para provar o seu
talento, o garoto se vê na deslumbrante e pitoresca Terra dos Mortos seguindo uma misteriosa
sequência de eventos. Ao longo do caminho, ele conhece o encantador trapaceiro Hector, e
juntos partem em uma jornada extraordinária para descobrir a verdade por trás da história da
família de Miguel.

despite music being banned for generations in his family. Desperate to prove his talent, the
boy finds himself in the stunning and picturesque Land of the Dead following a mysterious

set out on an extraordinary journey to uncover the truth behind Miguel's family history.

Todos do nosso grupo gostamos desse filme, ele passa uma visão bem interessante. Onde
Miguel, o protagonista enfrenta desafios para realizar o seu sonho de ser músico, isso nos
mostra persistência, força de vontade, esforço, várias coisas. Achamos interessante esse filme
pois em toda nossa vida profissional e pessoal precisamos correr atrás dos nossos sonhos
mesmo tendo desafios, precisamos ter foco, persistência e determinação, e o Miguel nos
mostrou que com tudo isso, a maioria das coisas são possíveis, e por isso achamos muito
interessante!

Everyone in our group liked this film, it gives a very interesting vision. Where Miguel, the
protagonist faces challenges to realize his dream of being a musician, this shows us
persistence, willpower, effort, various things. We found this film interesting because
throughout our professional and personal life we need to chase our dreams even having
challenges, we need to have focus, persistence and determination, and Miguel showed us that
with all this, most things are possible, and so we found it very interesting!

“Viva – A vida é uma festa” é, então, conforme podemos ver, uma produção que nos coloca
em contato com barreiras que precisam ser quebradas, auxiliando os adultos a lidar com temas
tão delicados quanto a vida e a morte juntamente as crianças, a demonstrar que, no final das
contas, estar por aqui é uma dádiva real. Aqui no Brasil o filme ganhou o nome de “Viva —
A Vida É uma Festa”, mas o nome verdadeiro não chega nem perto disso! O título original é
“Coco”, que é uma referência a Mamam Coco, a bisavó do protagonista. A mudança de nome
aconteceu, pois era uma forma de evitar que as pessoas falassem Cocô ao pronunciarem o
título aqui no Brasil. E não foi só isso que mudou: a bisavó do Miguel se chama, em solo
brasileiro, Mama Lupita.

"Live - Life is a party" is, then, as we can see, a production that puts us in contact with
barriers that need to be broken, helping adults to deal with topics as delicate as life and death
together with children, to demonstrate that, in the end, being here is a real gift. Here in Brazil
the film got the name of "Live - Life is a party", but the real name doesn't even come close to
that! The original title is "Coco", which is a reference to Mamam Coco, the protagonist's
great-grandmother. The name change happened, because it was a way to prevent people from
speaking Poop when pronouncing the title here in Brazil. And that's not all that changed:
Miguel's great-grandmother is called, on Brazilian soil, Mama Lupita.
