ABSTRACT: This study consists in determining, for the Cascavel region, PR,
the dosage in soil-cement to manufacture blocks, by laboratory tests in order
to provide those conditions of compressive strength and water absorption
and meet the ABNT NBR 10834/94 requirements - Method of test to hollow
soil-cement blocks. It was initially defined a mixture of soil and natural
sand to increase sand content of the original soil. With the mixture already
defined, cylindrical specimens were shaped with three levels of cement, 9%,
11% and 13%, which were tested for durability and compression by wetting
and drying. The analysis of these outcomes showed a 11% content of cement
as avilable to the molding of soil-cement blocks and after passed by the
process of wet cure. So, they were tested for compression and water
absorption. The results indicated that the shaped blocks with the found
dash in this study have met the standard specifications for the parameters
here tested.
