OBESIDADE PEDÍATRICA
THE ROLE OF THE PHYSIOTHERAPIST IN THE PEDIATRIC OBESITY
CONTROL PROCESS
Abstract: Obesity, which affects approximately 10% of the population, and is considered an
important nutritional disorder, the obesity rate in children has been growing at a frightening
rate in recent decades. The concern is redoubled because there is a great chance that obese
children will become obese adults, which would lead to an overweight society with problems
arising from this condition. The physiotherapist plays an essential role in controlling
childhood obesity, through his work he rehabilitates and promotes health, and thus, this
professional helps to restore, develop, and maintain the physical activity of obese children, in
addition to preventing disease, and guide those responsible and the children themselves to
develop physical care to minimize childhood obesity rates and the comorbidities arising from
it.
