practicing Christian men who say they have a confidant other than their

frequently or occasionally feel lonely). The same dynamic holds between

More than one-third of practicing Christian men (38%) reports feeling lonely
at least occasionally within the past month. Those who say so are more
likely than average to be under 35, among whom more than half (55%) have
struggled with loneliness, and never to have been married (59%).
Those who belong to ethnic minorities are more likely to struggle with
loneliness (48%). In particular, more than half of black Christian men (54%)
report recent struggles with loneliness, compared to one-third of white men
(34%).
Those who consider themselves to be politically liberal are more likely than
conservatives to say they struggle with loneliness (49% vs. 35%).
