OBJECT PRONOUNS
Vamos ao que interessa. Não existem textos sem pronomes pessoais. Eles estão simplesmente
por toda a parte na língua inglesa e o mesmo não é diferente nos textos das provas de concursos
públicos.
Os pronomes têm função crucial junto aos verbos, já que os verbos por si só não definem o
sujeito, por exemplo.
Vamos entender quais são as funções dos pronomes e sua importância para o bom entendi-
mento dos textos de língua Inglesa.
Conceito de Pronomes Pessoais
Há dois tipos de pronomes pessoais: os Subjective Pronouns e os Objective Pronouns.
Já os Objective Pronouns funcionam como o objeto da frase, ou seja, aqueles que sofrem a
ação do verbo. Logo, são usados depois do verbo.

Usados Antes do Verbo Usados Depois do Verbo
Os pronomes objetos, como o próprio nome já diz, têm a função de substituir ou se referir ao objeto
de uma frase. Por esse motivo, são sempre usados DEPOIS do verbo ao qual se referem.
Exemplos
• They study English with Jane. = They study English with her.
(Eles estudam Inglês com a Jane / Eles estudam Inglês com ela.)
They = sujeito
Jane = objeto – pode ser substituído pelo pronome HER, que é usado DEPOIS do verbo.
• I study English with Peter and Mary. = I study English with them. (Jane e eu estudamos
Inglês / Nós estudamos Inglês)
I = sujeito
Peter and Mary = objeto – podem ser substituídos pelo pronome THEM, que deve ser usado
DEPOIS do verbo.
