What Does a Gospel-Peddler Preach?O que diz um pregador do Evangelho Vendido?

1. Human prosperity is the gift of salvation. This appeals to the desire
for earthly pleasure and replaces God's worth with money.A prosperidade humana é
o dom da salvação.
Ele apela ao desejo do prazer terreno e substitui a pena de Deus pelo dinheiro.
2. Human obedience is the price of justification. This appeals to the
desire for earthly achievement and replaces God's grace with morality.A obediência

Paul Did not Peddle the Gospel.
Paulo não é vendedor do Evangelho. E você, pastor?
Paul renounced the pursuit of money as the goal of ministry and so received fewer
physical pleasures.Paulo renunciou à busca do dinheiro como a meta do ministério e assim
recebeu menos prazeres físicos. And he renounced the pursuit of morality as the way to be
justified and so he received more physical persecution.
E ele renunciou ao exercício de moralidade como a maneira de ser justificado e assim
recebeu mais perseguição física.
He preached Christ and let the chips fall where they would, whether he received
money or beatings.Ele pregou a Cristo e deixar sua marca onde quer que fosse, sem se

We, too, should not be in the ministry in order to make money or avoid trouble.Temos,

1.1. All the money in the world cannot replace Jesus as our treasure.Todo o

33 (vs. 31-32: On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house,
not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn
back.vs 31-32)
Do not try to hold onto this world when there is a choice between Christ and
things .Não se prenda a este mundo quando tiver que escolher entre Cristo e as coisas.
b) Remember the Rich Young Ruler.Lembre-se do Jovem Rico. Luke 18:18-
23Lucas 18:18-23 (v. 22: When Jesus heard this, i ill to him, “One thing you still lack.v. 22)
Jesus tells him i lacks one thing and then tell him to do three things: sell, give, and
follow.Jesus diz que ele carece de uma coisa e depois diz para fazer três coisas: vender,
dar, e seguir.
The one thing i lacks is Christ himself.A única coisa que falta é o próprio Cristo. Christ
is all i should hold onto. Cristo é tudo o que lhe faltava.
And when i takes hold of the one thing i lacks, the three things i must do ill
follow.Quando você abre mão de coisas para agarrar de Jesus, suas riquezas, sua saúde,
sua carreira poderá escorrer entre seus dedos.
E neste momento você então seráThen i ill be a follower of Christ. Um verdadeiro
seguidor de Cristo.

2.2. All the obedience in the world cannot replace Jesus as our
righteousness.Toda obediência do mundo não pode substituir a Jesus como nossa
justiça.
a) Remember the Obedient Servant.Lembre-se do servo obediente. Luke 17:7-
10Lucas 17:7-10 v. 10: So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded ,
say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty(v. 10)
When we have done everything we are supposed to, we should still acknowledge that
it won't suffice.Quando fizer tudo o que é possível, reconheça que não foi o suficiente. Você
ainda está em débitoWe are still unwor.
b) Remember the Obedient Pharisee.Lembre-se do fariseu obediente. Luke 18:9-
14Lucas 18:9-14 (v. 11: The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: 'God, I thank you
that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.v.

The Pharisee acknowledges that his obedience is from God.O fariseu reconhece que
sua obediência agrada a Deus, mBut it still doesn't justify him.as não o justifica.
No amount of obedience in us, then—even God-worked obedience—is sufficient to
save us.Nenhuma quantidade de obediência ou de trabalho na Obra é suficiente para te
justificar e salvar.

3. Precisamos chorar e nos arrepender...

Conclusão:
We need Jesus above all for satisfaction and justification.Precisamos de Jesus acima
de tudo, para nossa satisfação e justificação.
TeuOur own money, even if it filled the earth, would not satisfy us. próprio dinheiro,
mesmo que encha celeiros, não te satisfará.
TuaOur own obedience, even if it were perfect and God-given, would not justify us.
obediência, mesmo que fosse perfeita, não te justificaria.
TenhaTherefore we have every motivation to say with Paul, “We are not peddlers of
God's Word.” a motivação de dizer como Paulo: "Nós não somos vendedores da Palavra de
Deus."
Peddlers are driven by greed for money and fear of pain.Vendedores da Palavra são
movidos pela ganância, dinheiro e medo da dor.
But let us preach Christ as the all-satisfying treasure and God-satisfying
obedience.Vamos pregar Cristo como nosso único tesouro.
