ATENÇÃO Á SAÚDE DA
CRIANÇA
O acompanhamento do crescimento e desenvolvimento da criança é um dos
principais pilares da saúde infantil, e há inúmeras evidências científicas que
norteiam as diretrizes do cuidado da atenção integral da criança pois
estabelece a promoção do crescimento e desenvolvimento da criança e para a
prevenção de doenças na infância e também na idade adulta.

A política Nacional de Atenção Integral á saúde da criança tem por

objetivo: Promover e a saúde da criança e o aleitamento materno, mediante
a atenção e cuidados desde a gestação aos 9 anos de vida, em especial a
primeira infância e populações de maior vulnerabilidade, visando a redução
da morbimortalidade infantil.

× Apesar do declínio observado no Brasil a morbimortalidade infantil

permanece como uma grande preocupação em saúde pública.

× Estima-se um risco de um nascido vivo morrer durante o seu primeiro

ano de vida.

× E quais seriam esses fatores de risco?

• Baixo nível socioeconômico;

• História de morte de criança menor de 5
anos na familia;
• Criança explicitamente indesejada;
• Mãe adolescente (<20);
• RN pré-termo (<37 semanas);
• RN com baixo peso ao nascer (<2.500 g);
• Mãe com baixa instrução (<oito anos de
estudo).

Puericultura:
Puericultura consiste em um acompanhamento periódico visando a promoção e
proteção da saúde das crianças e adolescentes, por meio dela acompanha-se
integralmente o ser humano de 0 a 19 anos, sendo possível identificar
precocemente qualquer distúrbio de crescimento, desenvolvimento físico e
mental, nutricional, dentre outros, compreendendo a criança e o adolescente
como um ser em desenvolvimento com suas particularidades.
A periodicidade de acompanhamento dependerá da estratificação de risco da
criança, sendo que o calendário mínimo consiste em receber uma visita
domiciliar de uma Agente Comunitária de Saúde (ACS) até o 5º dia de vida, para
verificar os sinais de alerta relacionados ao recém-nascido e a puérpera, bem
como a realização da triagem neonatal e a situação do aleitamento materno. Além
disso, a recomendação é de que as consultas sejam mensais até o 6º mês de vida,
trimestral do 6º ao 12º mês de vida, semestral do 12º ao 24º mês de vida e
anualmente do 3º ao 19º ano de vida.
